This weekend I'll have to scan in some old pictures from some of the books I have; maybe I'll even stop by the library and pick up the WDW book they have there from the 1980s. Good stuff in there. ;)

Great job as usual! I will never understand closing river country to just close it such a unique and original water park too bad they didn't think it could opporate with blizard beach!
Look forward to seeing what you find, yoyoflamingo! :)
I have mainly been using a couple old WDW souvenir books, including the 25th anniversary one.
For today, we have rather a mixed bag of images:

A hotel I am unfamiliar with personally, presumably in the "hotel circle" with the Marriott and others...is this still there?

Thanks for looking, as always! :)
That Maelstrom picture in the first post always cracks me up mainly because there is absolutely nothing in the area where they are looking surprised at.
The Disney Inn is located behind the Grand Floridian and the Poly. It is now called Shades of Green and is the resort that is owned by the military.

It was the Value property before the All Star Resort.
I'm not sure I'd consider it a value resort as it had rates from 195.00 - 500.00 per night in the mid 90's according to some of the websites I've viewed.

The history of the Magic Kingdom, which is no longer there behind the Kodak Shop on MS, most of those items got moved to Walt Disney: OMD after they closed it. It was one of my favorite attractions at the MK. :(

That's it, I apologize that they aren't the best in quality, they are just family photos we've taken over the years. I do have a book at home from the early 80's about MK and Epcot, one of these days I'll scan it in. LOL
Thank you very much SummerInFL! I like the Pirates and Dreamflight interior photos in particular, I vaguely remember riding Dreamflight on my first visit in the 90's.
wow awesome photos gotta go digging around my parents house see if I can find some of my old photos from the 80's-90's alo0t of fond memories and also some interesting looks it's amazing to see how much just photo technology has advanced in this span of time..let alone how WDW has changed SOOOOOOOOO much
Wait so did they paint the castle pink?
Here are a couple just for fun:
