I have to say while I love the open atmosphere in that photo above? I'm grateful for the covered walkway in front of Mansion, mainly for rain or heat factors. I know most people complain but the vegetation that's grown in and the covered walkway really add to the eerie feeling to me.
I think the covered walkway works well both for protection from the environment and that it just feels claustrophobic and dark, pulling you into the mansion. I think wandering around in bright sunlight, all the way to the entrance, would make it somewhat harder to get into the ambience of the thing. It's hard to be creepy in the Florida sunshine.

The test of success is not what you do when you are on top. Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.

Here we go with today's selections
Vehicles spiral upwards to enter the World of Motion.
The Nautilus, gliding smoothly through the eerie depths of liquid space
A real blast from the past, this one..I can remember watching the TMNT show at MGM Studios as a small child.
One of the many subtle charms of World Showcase![]()

(I've never visited Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Resort Paris, nor Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, so don't be fooled when I pretend to know what I'm talking about. [But I'm pretty good with the information, if I do say so myself. And you can hit me all you want with Walt Disney World.])
I loved the World of Motion. I hate Test Track and think its pretty much a useless ride.
Here is an assortment for today:
Is this still accurate, that there is a straight shot view of the castle from Tom Sawyer Island? Very odd photo...
Cranium Command inside Epcot Center, now defunct if I am correct.
Lobby of the Contemporary. I do hope they've changed out those charming green seating pads...
This one I am sure will be recognizable to fans and admirers. I am sad to say I never experienced the Adventurer's Club for myself.
Now only is it defunct, but the entire Wonders of Life pavilion it was housed in as well. Interestingly, that must be an old promotional photo, unless there were multiple versions of the ride, because actual video of the actors was used during the main show, not the cartoons shown.

Here's the complete show, for anyone interested (Video originally by Martin Smith, but the Vimeo version was linking weird):
