What would you take out of WDW??

Due to it's exagerated size, there are good things and bad things that can be found at WDW... but sometimes we wish for those bad things to be gone or replaced by something more interesting... So I wonder what you would not mind seeing gone at WDW...

IF there is something you would lke to retire that's not in the Poll... please add it below.

I voted for the Speedway, which would be fantastic to see suddenly vanish. But if there were ONE thing I'd remove from the entire Walt Disney World Resort, there is no doubt in my mind what it would be ... the one thing that destroys the entire ambience and charm of an entire theme park, the one thing that best defines "forcing" the consumer-and-money obsessed aspect of Disney (because it's a not-very-good gift shop and nothing else), the one thing that feels so completely arbitrary and unnecessary and in-your-face garish:

The Sorcerer's Hat at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

No question in my mind - Stitch's Great Escape. The only attraction which actually lowers your IQ.

Stitch's Great Escape and Tiki Room Under New Management. One lowers your IQ and the other ticks you off so much you get up and walk out.

There are many, many things I would take out of WDW. Off the top of my head.

    -Bay Lake Tower
-Swan & Dolphin (moved out of EP sightline)
    -The Aladdin spinner
    -The Hat
    -All of the value resorts.
-All of the Official Hotels (by Downtown Disney)
    -MILF
    -DinoRama
    -Flamingo Crossings
    -Golden Oaks
-Waldorf Astoria (not on WDW property, but surrounded by it).

I deplore all the sprawl, over-development, damaged sight-lines, bad architecture, etc.

    Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey.

It's beyond dated, it's absolutely embarrasing. They haven't even updated the pre-show monitors which offer trivia about hit ABC TV shows like The Practice and Spin City. When did those shows go off the air?

Then the attraction itself is a weak show, in which we listen to sound effects on terrible headphones. Awful awful show.

Runners-up would be most of the movies in Epcot. Other than Canada and the USA, they could all use an update. They're not terrible by any means, but can we not get something a little more modern?

Re: What would you take out of WDW??

    My list:

    Stitch's Great Mistake
    MILF

Universe of Energy - Remove it or update it, its sad in its current condition.
Maelstrom - Remove it or update it.
Tiki Room - Go back to the original please.
Journey Into Imagination - Original or Update it. (Which I hear they are doing, YAY)
Tom Sawyers Island - Childhood favorite but needs a severe overhaul. It shouldn't look the same as it did when I was 8.
    Toontown
Space Mountain - Update it please.
Carousel of Progress - Update it or remove it. (Sorry, love this attraction but its in a deplorable condition right now.
The Seas - Not really remove it but remove the Pixar overlay of Nemo and go back to an updated sea base but keep the Nemo ride in it.
Circle of Life - Remove or update.
The Great Movie Ride - Update it.
    Sounds Dangerous - Remove it.
Muppets - Sorry, its needs an update.
The Backlot Tour - Remove it.

Animal Kingdom .....The ENTIRE Dinoland needs to be removed. It's a cheap carnival. Keep Dinosaur and theme the land like we are IN that time period, not some Flintstones cartoon with bad writing and cardboard cutouts.

Rafiki's Watch Planet - Not necessarily remove it but relocate it, its current area is not worth the effort to get there.

Of the listed options, Stitch for sure. Only attraction I've ever been on that made me have to visit the First Aid station to lie down. Dang chili dog smell...

    ~sigh~

I voted for Stitch's Great Escape. As much as I LOVE Stitch....and want the Stitch animatronic for my very own......I had to vote for this. It just has no reride value. If you've done it once...you're set for life.

I feel like such a traitor.

Mission:Space, or at least the ride inside the building. The pavillion itself is quite majestic and nice to look at, but the ride itself should be replaced with something that doesn`t squish you thin as a stick. Keep the building, replace the ride with something more tolerable.

If I had to pick only one thing, it would be the Swan & Dolphin. Not only because it's the least likely to ever happen, but also because all the other things listed can be repurposed or rethemed into something better. As long as those giant architectural abominations are left standing, all of Epcot suffers.
It bothers me when people selectively edit quotes to support whatever point they are trying to prove.

Re: What would you take out of WDW??

I absolutely love the Contemporary Resort. Seeing the monorail go through the building from across the Seven Seas Lagoon is one thing that I always enjoyed. The new Bay lake Tower has changed that view. Now that might be a minor flaw to some people. I am sure the DVC rooms probably afford the guests a wonderful view of the Magic Kingdom, and all the other resorts on the Seven Seas lagoon. It just isn't the same for me anymore.
