Wonder why they did that? Doesn't make any sense...which twitter account did they post that on?

Ok guys, I'm going to be that annoying guy... I've been out of the loop for a bit and lurking somewhat, but when is this thing supposed to be complete?

Late 2012 as of right now. Looks like construction is moving along nicely, so they might actually get it done on time!

Wasn't on a Twitter account; they posted on the Walt Disney World page, under attractions the Magic Kingdom!

I thought they were opening in 2012 in phases, with completion not until 2013.

Does anyone know the order? I'm assuming Batb and TLM will open first...maybe around the same time. The Snow White coaster will probably open last since it was greenlit only a few months ago. Don't know where Circusland fits into the schedule.

They always open new attractions in spring/summer. Is May or June 2012 realistic for Mermaid?

I think that's pretty realistic yah. Especially if they're already laying down the track and all the animatronics / characters were already made when DCA's was made. All they need to do is install it and finish the exterior.

If you look at pictures of the Little Mermaid building in CA back in January.... it wasn't even close to looking like it was done. It's come a LONG way.

with the work being currently done, i can see the beauty and the beast segment opening as early as the march break rush, followed a month or so after by the little mermaid ride and then 2-4 months after that for storybook circus with the mine train and any other in completed minor projects coming in about November in time for the Christmas vacations. just my predict

I think the bigger picture here is this: the FL expansion was planned without an E ticket attraction. Now that we have seen Mermaid open in DCA, a good D-ticket for sure, I am asking myself: what were they thinking?!

    - is duelling Dumbo an E-ticket? No.
    - is Mermaid an E-ticket? No.
    - is Be our Guest restaurant an E-ticket? No.
    - is Gaston's Tavern an E-ticket? No.
    - is Princess Faire meet-n-greet an E-ticket? No.
    - is re-themed Goofy Coaster an E-ticket? No.
    - is plussed Pooh queue an E-ticket? Hardly. It's already falling apart.

What I see here is Disney playing it safe, doing a lot more of the same old thing. It's a big land expansion acreage wise, for sure. It will be nicely themed and hopefully maintained.

This is/was Disney's plan to counter Potter. Really? Now we have a family friendly 7 Dwarf coaster
in the works, which may or may not be a unique E-ticket type ride experience, which was literally a last minute change.

Numerous sources have said this was not in response to Potter, though it seems Disney should do something in response to that. And while the Mermaid and Be Our Guest and mine coaster won't be E-Tickets, I am definitely excited about all 3!
