Nobody has ever died at Disney World?? Hmmmm

Two weeks ago we took the Keys to the Kingdom tour at the Magic Kingdom. The tour guide was very professional, factual and answered all questions honestly. But, now I am not too sure.
Several times the tour guide mentioned that "NOBODY HAS EVER DIED AT WALT DISNEY WORLD". True, there have been numerous accidents and guests and cast members have died. But we were told that nobody has ever been "pronounced dead" on property. Instead, the EMT's have the ambulance take the body to the closest hospital to be pronounced dead. It is Disney World, a magical place for all guests. What do you think about that?

This is old disney lore, and no longer true. Back when Disney could control the media, and the news, they used this as way to prevent stories from ending up in the papers, and on TV. I know from a first hand experience that people have been pronounced dead on disney property with a county coroner and all.

Oh summer one of these days I will have you sit down with one of my Fur friends and let them tell you stories. The stuff people do to them is criminal.

It's interesting to note when reading that Wikipedia article...that outside of transportation incidences, the majority of guests/CM deaths were caused by the victims themselves not following the rules accordingly. This can include those who go on a ride knowing full well that they have a heart condition.

Only a small percentage of deaths at WDW where caused by means beyond their control.

That's a load of BS. Now, just who were these "Tour guides" that you talk of? Were they bus drivers, actual WDW tour guides employed by Disney while on paid WDW tours, or some other non disney tour representative giving out bad info?

Re: Nobody has ever died at Disney World?? Hmmmm

As mentioned in the original message...this tour guides work at the GUEST RELATIONS at the Magic Kingdom. At the beginning of every tour every tour guide provides a little background of their personal Disney work experience...such as being supervisor for Disney Dining Reservations and Casting, personally escorting celebrities (Johnny Depp, Mariah Carey), as well as working at the other parks in Guest Relations. At lunch there were 3 additional Guest Relations cast members available to answer questions as well...and also confirmed there has never been a death on WDW property.
Personally I found it difficult to believe which is why the reason for the post.
