R.I.P Skyway Station, Hello to Restrooms!

They have started to get ready to get rid of the skyway station and bring the restrooms.

That's a bit redundant if you ask me. Take out an empty building and replace them with restrooms. Why didn't they keep the building and just put in some plumbing? I'm to young to have ever experienced the the skyway, but hey. Why don't they bring the entire attraction back?

Although I'll miss the Skyway station (despite it not actually doing anything, it looked nice) I look forward to Peter Pan's Flight with an expanded queue. I might actually ride it then.

ORDDU: From what my sisters and I have been told by cast members, the current skyway station was condemned due to termite infestation and that building had to be torn down for that reason alone.

So it's suffering the fate of Disneyland's old Fort Wilderness with a mix of the Tomorrowland Skyway Station? Termite's come in, building goes out, bathrooms take it's spot. It is very sad that a piece of Disney history has to go. The pond area looked beautiful.

I hope that they will keep that pond area, that'd be a nice tranquil spot to wait for the part of the party using the restrooms...

All in all if this is what it takes to get an amazing qeue for Peter Pan, I'm for it, sad but I'm for it...

Think I agree with everyone's sentiments here. It's sad to see it go, but it's not like the attraction is ever coming back, and being completely unused, it looks a little ridiculous. This big themed building for....stroller parking? Time for it to go, indeed...

The current Pan queue is torurously long and boring. The whole area is desperate for updating, really. I welcome this news... I have high hopes for a job well done, and hope their efforts also result in better traffic flow through that area as well....

That was a gorgeous area in Fantasyland....even more so than Disneyland's. Its too bad they couldn't salvage it and make a restaurant or a snack area of something.

Because the existing buildings would really not make for very good facilities. I am hoping Peter Pan's Flight at least gets a good interactive queue.

I agree that it was a beautiful area, and that certainly I am saddened by the finality of knowing that the sky ride will never return (a piece of history lost forever now). That being said, however, I am glad to see something being done with what was in reality a sad reminder of what once was(although a nice looking one!). I only hope that what comes in its place is a worthwhile replacement for a very picturesque area that provided a lot of mood atmosphere to that area.

Why don't they turn the Skyway Station into the Princess Meet and Greet area and change the Snow White ride into something else like Beauty and the Beast or something?

EDIT: Just realized they're building a whole area for BATB that wouldn't work. But you get my point?

Supposedly that plan was considered at one time.
