Re: Splash Mountain finale effects turned off 1/22

I'm the guy Al wrote about in a roundup column a few weeks ago, after having a really "bad experience" at the Magic Kingdom. I don't think anyone who notices things not working, buildings and their contents not working properly (or not at all in this case) is being anything other than disappointed. And by disappointed I mean seeing something we all love just being neglected. I visit Disneyland and DisneyWorld A LOT, even though I live in Massachusetts. The feeling I get when I walk through the tunnel at DL is always the same - it's like visiting an old friend that no matter how many years pass is doing just fine and is happy to see you! You can walk around that park, and feel the same way you did the first time you visited (or the 5th, 12th or 31st)

WDW on the other hand feels like it's going to end up like this:

[Images removed at request of photographer. -Monorail Man]

"Nara Dreamland" is a cheap Disneyland ripoff that opened in 1961. It was closed in 2006 (thanks to imagineering disney for the pics)

No one is being "borderline sociopathic". I believe we all enjoy visiting the Disney Parks, we just want the people responsible for keeping the magic happening to feel the same way we do!

Well, I mean no offense to anyone, but I have a feeling that, sadly, Splash Mountain is going to be utterly ignored like this until at least the new Fantasyland is up and running. At least it's nice to know that we have something like Disneyland's Splash Mountain to fall back on.
    My top favorite Disneyland attractions:

    2. Pirates of the Caribbean
    3. Splash Mountain
    4. Mad Tea Party
    5. Peter Pan's Flight
    6. Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

The AA's always worked when they were in America Sings! They need to go back into the show where they belong!

Friends of mine are at WDW this week, and I asked them if they'd noticed any issues on Splash. They said no - granted, they're not nit pickers like I am, but I think it's safe to assume that the showboat figures are working once again.

Most of Disneyland's AA figures came from America Sings. Florida versions were created from scratch and have more Song of the South specific/newly sculpted characters. They were never in another attraction at WDW.

They were probably more expensive at WDW than at Disneyland. That was one reason why they closed America Sings and used its characters, to save money. That, and the show was already falling victim to low attendance.

Allowing people on this attraction with that many AAs not functioning is a disgrace.

the America Sings AAs were also manufactured by the old MAPO, which means those are Grade A QUALITY figures who's movements will always be fluid.

It was reportedly fixed after three days (Sat, Sun, Mon) of operation with the frozen finale. By Tuesday morning (when the article ran, actually) it was fixed.

It appears to have cropped up a few times over the past several weeks, so it wasn't an isolated incident.

which further makes me think this is a 'system' issue impacting many AAs, not many AAs individually broke.

BTW in your video is the grey hen on the very right side headless, or is she just frozen with her head tilted back?

Either way that is HORRIBLE BAD SHOW.
Yes they use that. It's a sheet that maintenance workers use to know what's working/not working.
