It doesn't matter if you hold yourself extra tall. When you sit down normally after they're supposed to stop they go back to pinching.

Re: anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

not the most exciting attraction but stitch looks cute in it...went on it the other night and a little kid had a glow necklace blinking during the whole thing right next to me so it kinda ruined the show since you could see all around you ...not good not good

The Stitch AA and his dialogue are the cutest things ever. Some things could be improved on, but I enjoyed this attraction! I thought it was much better than Alien Encounter...

Re: Anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

It's an attraction that should be seen once for the experience but I also recommend only if the line is short. Waiting even 20 minutes for this ride isn't worth it. IMHO I am one of the people who loved Alien Encounter and miss it very much.

It is cute, but only needs to be seen once.

Re: Anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

Okay, let me provide an opinion for you on the other side of the fence. I loved Stitch's Great Escape. Is it my favorite ride? No (but it's definitely high up on my list).

First of all, I like how they can do they same effects as AE did, but keep it more family friendly. AE didn't close because of cost-cutting measures....It closed because it was too scary for kids and adults alike. Stitch eliminates that problem. Now one of the big problems is that people always try to compare it to AE. IT IS NOT ALIEN ENCOUNTER. THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT ATTRACTIONS. People were expecting it to be a scary attraction, but when they found out it wasn't they complained.

Secondly, the Stitch animatronic is simply amazing. For the time being, it is the most advanced AA ever made. To give an analogy, I loved Chicken Little. But it would be like me saying that seeing Chicken Little was worth it if only for Digital Disney. Even if you have questions about seeing this, the AA Stitch alone is worth seeing.

Thirdly, I thought the show was hysterical. I loved the cell phone and chile dog segments. The laser cannons are also very cool. Besides the old AE effects, there are also some new ones.

Finally, I love how even though they are 2 different attractions, Stitch keeps the same corny feeling as AE had (like when Jumba kept saying how big the monster was going to be). It was so cheesy. Also, in the 2nd Preshow, I thought Sarge was very funny (in a less sadistic way than SIR was).

So on a scale from 1-10 (1 being Playhouse Disney & 10 being Tower of Terror), I'd give Stitch an 8.5. So I'd definitely reccommend seeing it. Make up your own opinion. Every other person in MC might hate it & yet you might love it. Even if you end up not liking it, you can at least say you tried it.

Re: Anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

I loved Alien Encounter. Stitch is a poor immitation of it. Yes, it was supposed to make the ride more kid friendly. When I rode it, there were two kids whimpering through it. It is not kid-friendly enough because you put the kids in the dark. It is not adult scary enough to really be a thrill ride. It is a good time waster. If you have nothing else to do in the Magic Kingom, then ride this ride. But don't wait in line for this poorly contrived attraction.

BTW, I hate the smell of chillydog!

Re: Anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

I just got back from a WDW trip and I was very disappointed with this attraction. It was all about the chili dog and nothing about Disney's ability to craft a great attraction. I was offended. Don't waste your time.

Re: Anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

I have a good friend who worked VERY hard on this attraction. I am sorry to hear these reactions to it.

I won't get to see it till Oct 2006.

Re: Anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

SGE is a VERY poor replacement for AE. They took out an original story with original characters, and replaced it with something more marketable. All that was changed in SGE from AE was the animatronics and the pre-shows, yet the same effects that made AE so scary are still there. Everytime I went on it, young kids were on it screaming that they wanted out because it was too scary. Unfortunatly, the attraction is marketed and geared towards these younger kids. At the same time, the fact that it's a Stitch attraction turns off the older crowd who would enjoy the effects.

One other complaint is the animation used throughout the show, which is sub-par. The lowest bidder clearly got the contract here and it shows. The poor quality is even noticible by the average guest as poor.

Like most here have said, it's something you should experiance, but not if you have to wait more than 20 minutes.

Re: Anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

Stitch's Great Escape is a really good attraction IF you quit comparing it to Alien Encounter. That is the problem with this attraction, too many people are comparing it to the former attraction. Had AE never been there I think people would love Stitch's Great Escape. The only BAD thing about this attraction is that it is plagued by too many comparisons to Alien Encounter.

I loved Alien Encounter and I love Stitch. I love this attraction when viewed as an attraction unto itself. Enjoy the ride and quit comparing to AE. AE is gone now, so just enjoy the new attraction.

Stitch is a very popular Disney character and he is an Alien on top of it, therefore he is a perfect fit for this tomorrowland attraction. Would I have loved to see something done differently....yes. However Stitch is a DISNEY character and the Magic Kingdom is where DISNEY characters are supposed to live, therefore Stitch is a perfect character for this attraction. Like I said earlier, if Disney had done this attraction without ever doing Alien Encounter, then peoples perspectives and opinions would be totally different.

Open your mind people and quit the comparisons.

Oh wow. That shows how different opinions can be. Sarge is the thing about the attraction I hate the most.

Re: Anyone have opinions on Stitches great escape?

am not comparing because i can't. I never experienced ailien encounter. but the impression I got from people who did was that they really liked it. Yes it was scary, but that was the point. It was probably the only attraction aimed at teens and adults at the MK.
I did however experience stitch and I can say that while I loved the effects and the animatronic, the story was lacking and the ending was contrived, and that was after they changed it. It has potential but still needs work. some small tweeking here and there and it would be just as "awsome " as alien encounter was, but I am dissappointed that it seems that too much of the MK has been " dumbed down" for kids, and that the thrills seem to be found at MGM, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. I think the only real thrills at MK are space mountain and splash mountain. Of course that is just my opinion.
