Kids 9 and under are ok in costumes. 10 and older, no. More info and links in this thread.

Common Sense is no longer too common unfortunately...

Which is the real crime in this story.. that the parents aren't taking responsibility and instead are trying to milk this.

This is the most exaggerated story.. 'taken into custody'... seriously?

It's simple... they were in violation of park policy, they were denied entry because of it, Disney even offered them free clothing.

The only reason such a scene would be dragged out is because the self-centered ones wouldn't comply and were probably arguing about it.

Sad but true is this family's handling of the situation and continued efforts to promote it.

According to televised accounts , her, her boyfriend and parents were escorted by security to a secure location at Disney"s Animal Kingdom and held for a reported 2-1/2- 3 hours because her Tinkerbell costume was too "authentic"? Google this and you will see first-hand the details. According to news reports, the family had saved up for 1 1/2 years for this trip. Disney told the young lady that she would not be allowed into Animal Kingdom. Ironic, because she and her family had already visited MGM without a problem. Again, according to breaking news reports, Disney offerred the party "fast-passes" to the attractions for their inconvenience, but the young lady was required to change out of the costume that she had worked on for months or she could not enter the park. Disney provided her with a complimentary T-shirt + shorts from a gift shop.THIS IS MY IST POST. I GREW UP IN SAN DIEGO IN THE EARLY 1960'S AND HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO ACTUALLY SEE WALT HIMSELF AT A GATHERING IN DISNEYLAND. I believe in my heart that Walt would have embraced that young Disney fan and would of insisted on a photo. (complimentary, of course).
Boy, how the Disney culture has changed. This young lady deserves to have the Magical experience she were hoping for actually happen. WHAT SAY DISNEY?
Yes because news on Facebook is never blown out of proportions. Rules exist for a reason, if they didn't we'd have a lot more people falling off into the pit around the seance room at HM.

It "ruined" their vacation. More like they changed clothes and could still enjoy their vacation. People are idiots quite often.

Apparently this occurred during Star Wars Weekends which could likely explain why she was allowed into the Disney-MGM Studios.
