Re: Park Ticket Prices increase 1/1/06

There is no question that $63 sounds very high. But we all know that very few people do pay that. Out of town visitors are not going to WDW for a day. They are going to purchase multi-day passes. Locals do get discounts and can purchase AP's.

Everything at Disney is expensive. This is not new. Ever since Eisner took over, prices have raised dramatically. Restaurants are expensive. Snacks are expensive. Souvenirs, particularly pins, are very expensive. The raise in price could be made up by skipping a snack at WDW.

I wish it was not so, but I have come to the conclusion that people will pay top dollar to experience Disney. It is supply and demand.

I only hope that the increased revenue will be re-funneled into new exciting attractions for WDW rather than new higher bonuses for over-paid top execs!

    Like I said, you're odd.

And I'm sure if you wanted to, you could spend the money for an annual pass just by saving a dollar a day for a year. It's all about money management. Yes, you could use that money on something else more important. So no need for a Disney World Annual Pass. Yup. It's not about you not having the money to do it, it's about you wanting to use it for it. Quit complaining!

another word of warning, expect more of the increases. Florida now has an ammendment to their state constitution that raised the minimum wage in 2005, but it also indexes further anual increases to inflation. So if the minimum wage goes up, expect workers to want at least the same percentage increase to their pay. so prices will go up as well. expect this for at least the next 3 years. cause the ammendment can't be scrapped till 2008.
