So you all know, park ticket prices are going up as much as 5% for the start of 2006 (the 5% increase affecting one-day tickets, which will increase to $63/day). Longer stay passes will see smaller increases (e.g. a 2.5% increase for 7-day Magic Your Way tickets). I guess this is Disney's New Years gift to all of us ;)

this year sea world was the first to raise it's gate prices and everyone knows that when one of them does it , eventually all will. Universal won't be far behind. also when they open a new attraction, they raise the price and like everyone else, the parks have costs they incur and as things like energy and labor costs go up; so will the cost of admission and room rates at the hotels

I believe atleast $45 is worth the admission price for the park, but $63 is just a straight-up rip off. I posted a message one day on savedisney, and told Roy that eventually it will get to the point where only the rich will be able to pay for admission. Heck, a lot of people already can not afford it.

Guys... I don't know a soul that would in their right mind buy a one-day ticket anyway. The $63 price is kinda just "there." You have to look at how cheap a 7 day ticket is now... that's where it's only like $28 a day or some crazy low price?
Or $21/day on a 10-day. I make this point in this week's update too.

I only do day trips to WDW (as I live only 90 minutes away) and fundage is limited. I can't afford a 7 or 10 day pass or even a 3 day pass really.
I still have a 1 day ticket from 1987... less than $30 back then.
Damn inflation and greedy execs.
