Old/Abandoned Traces of WDW

Anyone know of any traces of rides, attractions, signs, restaurants, logos, hotel interiors, etc. in WDW that are no longer in use, should not be there, and are lying vacant and unused? Anything visible of past relics of Disneyland that have since been shuttered but are still easily visible to guests. Photos appreciated!

I think the easiest abandoned location to find is the entrance to River Country. The sign and ticket booths at the entrance haven't changed a bit, and you can see quite a lot without getting in trouble.

The upstairs Imageworks in JII, the Wonders of Life Pavilion, and many of the VIP lounges at EPCOT. Discovery Island is another example, along with River Country.

While I've never been to WDW, I certainly have had my encounter with a piece of old WDW. In the 90s, both Mark IV Monorail Coral and Lime had a second run in their careers in Las Vegas. These two trains were part of the pilot program for the Las Vegas Monorail, which ran between the MGM Grand and Bally's (approx. 1 mile). The beamway is very similar to the one in WDW. I'm not sure which train got what paint job, but the one train had an MGM Grand green/gold themed paint job and the other train got a simple white/blue paint job for Bally's. The trains were retired when the system was expanded into the current 4 mile system you see, which began running in 2004 with new Bombardier built trains. The MVI are cousins to WDW's Mark VI trains. I remember seeing pics of the two trains sitting out in the desert in sections. Bally's monorail was especially covered in graffiti. The ironic thing is there's graffiti on the nose where it says "A touch of class". I heard the trains have since been moved to an unknown location. If you ride the Las Vegas Monorail today, you'll see the old storage for Coral and Lime off to the side in the Bally's area.

At about 7:40 you'll see the former home of Coral and Lime after they left WDW.

After first reading this topic, i went on youtube and found a bunch of videos of abandoned attractions, and showed traces of where they used to be. Very cool to see some of the stuff that still exists on the Disney properties.

They might have taken these down now. Here is a view of the unfinished side of the Pop Century Resort. Last time I heard was that they were never going to finish it.

That side of the Pop Century is now the Art of Animation Resort. It's fortunately not abandoned anymore.

I was an Opening Day guest at Art of Animation. The CM that checked me in told me the only building left from the abandoned Pop Century buildings was the main one. They turned it into Animation Hall for Art and tore the other buildings down to build for the suites

yup and sigh... i would really like the original with new effects with new animatronics in with the original soundtrack restored and remastered

Actually, the Little Mermaid section of the resort is made up of some of the original Pop Century buildings. This is why they will not be suites and will have outdoor hallways.
