I wasnt going to say anything, but......Carsland looks very cool. Of the 3 attractions in it, 2 look like carnival based rides. No big deal. Id love to see what Disney could do with Avatar, but maybe just a real cool dark ride. Too bad Disney didnt have rights to "The Hobbit" !....lol....BTW....GO TIGERS !!!!

I for one don't want to see cars land in florida - I don't want all the Disney Parks to be just copies of each other - I want them to be different and that will be the reason people will travel to see each of them - i want to go and experience something different that I can only experience in that Disney Park.

Woah DCA is not compact if anything DHS is already at boundaries limit. RSR is the largest Show Building in DCA if anything you guys would get a one track verson of the ride.

well not really, dhs has a huge expansion pad available on the other side of the current highway offramp for the park with room to change its position, and theres also room for expansion where the old production areas used to be so really theres room for a whole other half park there if they wanted to expand into it. however regardless, it would be a mistake to bring RSR in in the first place so hopefully it does not happen.

We have tons of rumors of what is going to happen to DHS...
    .. removal of LMA
.. change out of BatB show
.. removal of VotLM (replaced by Phinius and Ferb)
.. removal/alternation of BackLot and parts of Streets of NY for Cars Land
.. addition of RSR and Cars land

    Then Animal Kingdom
... closing of existing FotLK location
... new theater in Africa for FotLK and now potentially street version of show to be in the interim
    ... Avatar speculation

    Then EPCOT
... what Test Track really looks like and if its an improvement
... rumors of the Rat maybe coming to France
... what the new character spot refurb may come out like

    Then MK
    ... the restrooms
    ... Snow White Ride
... what the new M&G location may turn out like
    ... interactive queue in BTMRR

and then add on top of all of that, what FP+ will ultimately frame out as and all it's impacts..

    Take your pick...
Nice list! Thanks! But yawn. BATHROOMS in the Magic Kingdom?! They made your list?

A high-speed trackless attraction for almost the whole family would get my attention. Maybe based on Tron, Cars (Luigi's very different tire attraction--Luigi's dream) or maybe an attraction that is weird and original, not based on any movie. Imagine that.

I'd be impressed if Disney were connecting three of the huge moderate resorts
to their very nearby theme parks
using short transportation systems, even as primitive as a choo-choo train or a cheesy little monorail like the one that used to connect casinos at Primm, Nevada.

If guests at a resort have a special, magical connection to even one park, it's a nice plus. Getting there by car or bus might include much nicer scenery than Detroit, but look at how nice it is to take a tram up to the Getty in Los Angeles. Getting around WDW should be a little more fun. It was when the Magic Kingdom posed alone at the very back of a long journey through unspoiled wilderness of WDW, followed by a parking lot tram, then by a climactic boat or monorail ride. Almost every guest experienced that in the 70s.

Even if it's an impossible mission, Disney should strive to turn its Deluxe resorts into five-star properties, and its moderates into four-star resorts. They already charge those prices. Value resorts can still focus on providing a great value.

What I'm most excited about within 100 miles of WDW & Disneyland are the growing Wizarding Worlds of Harry Potter.

(This is three time zones off track, but I'm also excited about Disneyland's role in the Tom Hanks as Walt Disney movie.)

    Re: So now what...

I agree that DHS needs the most help at the moment. I would like to see this park upgrade to full day park status.

But no Carsland please. I know ideas are limited on a movie-based theme park but cloning everything from the west coast won't solve matters. How about expanding the Muppet and Star Wars sector of the park? Phineas and Ferb? I dont care how popular that show is. At least The Little Mermaid has a full range audience base. Fix that show at the very least.

I dunno if I am on board with the idea of a Ratatouille ride at Epcot. I mean look at what they did with Mexico boat ride by adding the Three Cabelleros. The attractions in World Showcase should be nation-based not character-based and what connection would a Ratatouille ride in France have other than the movie was set there? Plus the ride is already planned for WDSP. Let them have it.

WDW needs some more one a kind attractions/experiences for their second gates.

Full agreement. I always felt that even though the Grand Floridian is a great hotel, it doesn't feel like it's all the way up there in terms of luxury hotel status. The top hotels on property need to keep up with their high status and not slither away just because there guests are standard families. They're paying the extra money to that luxury type experience so why not give it to them, I say.

That was written kind of dull intentionally... it's referring to the Rapunzel Area being redone inbetween HM and IASW where the restrooms from Peter Pan will be relocated.

    Howdy Pards,

Peter Pan is among the most popular of all rides at Walt Disney World...can you imagine a huge update to this attraction in a space (over and) beyond the railroad tracks in New Fantasyland? Adding magic to the waiting line...expanding the ride itself...updating it with new magic, new technologies. Still a gentle, fly through of course...but expanding the experience...bringing Tinkerbell and others to magical life. I can see a huge Neverland...complete with Hook's pirate ship and Skull Rock on the scale of Pirates of the Caribbean...if not much larger. Mermaids! Pixie Dust! An E ticket ride beyond the imagination!

I love it in Mickey's Philharmagic when Tink practically touches your nose...

Expand the Monorail system. Long, long, long overdue.

Bring some new movie magic to Disney's Hollywood Studios...expand on the Animation
thing...bring back real animators...bring back Robin Williams for an all new Back to Neverland movie. Sell the classic original on DVD and Blu-ray! Put Mickey's Hat in the Animation Building Courtyard...Update the Great Movie Ride with new scenes, new storylines...

And, yes, yes, of course bring something on the scale of Cars Land to Disney's Hollywood Studios...something huge, incredible, breathtaking, magical. Build a parking garage for the
people to park in...and use that parking lot space for a huge expansion of the park itself.

Don't lose the Festival of the Lion King...it's a class act...a wonderful show! Maybe the best in all of Walt Disney World!

Expand Frontierland with the Western River Expedition exactly as Imagineer Marc Davis
    dreamed it.

There are so many dreams left in the world...undiscovered wonders await! Hey, I know,
how about going back to Walt's idea for a true Progress City! It is time. Well beyond time actually for a real Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow... All it takes is someone with vision, imagination, and technical know-how...Disney already has plenty of Pixie Dust.

Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.

The thought of anything Ratatouille related in the France pavilion just made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
It bothers me when people selectively edit quotes to support whatever point they are trying to prove.

lol i get where your coming from, i don't know though, i thought i was going to hate the three cabaleros overlay of the mexico ride but it turned out to be a pretty fun ride that was still educational. if they did it in that style i would be ok with the concept however if it was all about remy and not france or super action packed thrill ride then i would not be amused.

Dan, you greet us with a howdy and say good-bye real friendly like, and in-between you write the scariest words e'er written. I'm writin' 'bout the Festival of the Lion King goin' away! No, no, no, no, no! NO! No.

This is the second time I've heard this recently and, at first, I thought, "Yeah, right." As if they would get rid of one of the very best things to experience at Walt Disney World. But then I remember how large the excellent cast is and that Michael Eisner killed the Golden and Diamond Horseshoe Revues in favor of much less expensive shows.

If the Festival of the Lion King goes, I might not take the family to WDW down the road. They've got to keep these great things we don't have at Disneyland to motivate us to cross the country.

Or a similar ride system used to tell a different story.

    Re: So now what...

What happened to the rumors (I may have heard them on twitter or elsewhere) that Jungle Cruise was getting extended. I heard that the removal of Shrunken Ned's Junior Jungle boats was in preparation for the track extension into this area... I don't have insider info just wondering if anyone else has heard of this.

As for Cars Land being "small scale", no, just no. Cars Land is a pretty big area. DHS will IMO, get a scaled down version of DCA's if they get it. I have also heard that DHS will only get RSR instead of the entire land. Again, no insider info just what I have heard from people on here and on twitter.

Anyways back on topic, when New Fantasyland (still think that they should just refer to it as Fairy Tale forest instead of New Fantasyland) is done, we will most likely start construction tracking for Avatar Land or Cars Land depending on what they want to announce first. I don't think we will really see much of anything announced until D23 so the announcement on December 6 will probably just be concept art releases for Avatar Land (unless they have actually cancelled it).

    Re: So now what...

In my ideal world there'd be a large scale WDW development plan along the following lines once new Fantasyland is up and running:

Firstly I'd try not to clone attractions but I'd be quite happy to use the same ride systems to tell a different story like Body Wars & Star Tours or IJA and Dinosaur

Magic Kingdom - Some TLC for the other lands once we have new fantasyland. Tomorrowland needs some serious care - I'd update COP changing the scenes (1900s, 1930s, 1960s 2010s), change the raceway to something more futuristic based on moonbuggys or similar on an alien planet.
Frontierland - general sprucing up of what's there (inc Tom Sawer Island restored to its former glory) and start looking what to do with the big expansion pad beyond big thunder and splash (ideally a new version of WRE).
Adventureland - refurb with more of a Tiki topical theme - new tiki restauarnt in the old Veranda complex serving Hawiian style food can be split into sit down evening with entertainment (like the old Disneyland Veranda) and daytime moderate BBQ. Update the Tiki room but sympathetically - no UNM or Stich!
Liberty Sq - update some of the stores to sell more variety and less characters.
Main St - General reresh and new electrical parade modelled on the one in TDL.

EPCOT - Futureworld - return the entrance plaza its original look. UOE - Update to remove the Ellen theme replace with Ludwig Von Drake theme keeping the ride the same. WOL Convert building to new particle physics pavillion - attractions updated Adventure thru Inner space based in a CERN type facility, and interactive dispalys on what we now know about the atom (Higgs boson etc). Mission Space - general refresh, Test Tack as is after its refresh. Living Seas - Remove Nemo theme return to exploration theme. The Land general refresh. JII - Update ride to be the new version of the original with Dreamfinder and Figment. New image Works in its upstairs locations, replace Eo with new 3D movie staring Figment. Innovations - remove 90's overlay and restore to Comunicore add exhibit based on Walt Disney's ideas for the future with a film show and new progress city model. Restore updated version of old icon signage.
World Showcase - Needs more attractions so I'd add a Studio Ghibli Ride to japan based on Spirited away or Totoro using Hunny Hunt Technology (brings new characters to Epcot & keeps the Japanese culture element) & I'd use the Sinbad ride technology from TDS to build a Storybook ride in the UK themed to Mary Poppins. Italy could get a Gondola ride and Germany its Rhine cruise. Add some new countries - Brazil with rainforrest ride and samba show and complete the Africa pavillion. Update of illuminations with new countries.

Disney Studios - This park needs some serious TLC. Remove the Hat and restore Hollywood Blvd facades etc. Update GMR with some new movies. Remove Indiana Jones stunt show and build new version of the IJA but different to DL and TDS so its not a clone. Add a new daytime parade based on Pixar films. Expand Star Wars area - retheme backlot express into cantina restaurant, add speeder bike coaster ride. Likewise complete original Muppet Studios idea with Movie Ride and gonzo restaurant. Update 3D film. New shows to replace Beauty and the Beast and little mermaid, replace American Idol with a Hollywood Musical show similar to TDS big band beat. Retheme Rock and Rollercoaster to something more appropriate for its 1940s setting, maybe Dick Tracy themed? Pixar place - add Monsters Coaster in disused soundstage, retheme Honey I shrunk the Kids to Bugs land play area & add and incredibles dark ride. Rather than add cars land I'd use the same technology for a Tron based land RSR themed to the game grid with some smaller Tron based C tickets and a shopping / dining etc - this land would be enclosed like Mermaid lagoon at TDS & have very cool neon lighting. The old backlot theatre area would become themed to the worlds of Tim Burton with a darkride based on either Nightmare Before Christmas or Frankenweenie.

Animal Kingdom - Add avatarland, use land planned for Australia to build beastly Kingdom. Build new ride on discovery river using existing infrastructure.

Resort in General - Update Monorail system and expand. Add Epcot loop to DHS and Animal Kingdom (with Boardwark stop). Connect other resorts and areas to monorail via peoplemover type vehicles. Reinstate and expand Ft Wilderness railway to connect from Old River Country area to Disney marketpalace via stops at Ft Wilderness and Port Orleans - aim should be to get to Monorail from any area and then to get anywhere in the resort with only one monorail change max. Update Downtown Disney, restore non-fracnhsie shops and expand onto pleasure island site. Demolish River Country - replace with rail depot for Ft Wilderness railroad and build themed pool area for campground / lodge guests
