I hope this doesn't come to fruition. Hollywood Studios does need something major to draw people, but how does Cars Land really even make sense in the park? I think putting it in DCA was a stretch too, but it does end up working.

They would have to. Cars Land would have be scaled down immensely just due to the fact that the available space (Stunt Show, and Backlot Tour) could MAYBE fit only RSR, or only Route 66 without any major reworking or scaling down. That is unless Disney has plans of demolishing The Great Movie Ride, Muppets and the streets of America, then they might be able to fit DCA's Cars Land 1:1.

It seems like they would like to promote the horse that's already in the race.

Honestly, an original dark dark ride in Pixar place featuring Mater would be a good draw. Maybe Mater's spy adventure? Or something to that effect. I don't mind Pixar, they are as much Disney as anything else, they deserve a place in the parks, but a whole area dedicated to one franchise seems... Silly?

A whole area dedicated to one franchise in an area meant to accommodate all things Pixar. Sounds even more silly. Pixar Place would become really weird. A whole land dedicated to Cars, and then a Toy Story 3D ride right up front.

I share this concern. That plus I think wdw will value engineer the wow factor out of the DHS version of Radiator Springs. Aka smaller less detailed town and drastically reduced Cadillac mountain range. Note I said think vs fear as I have such little faith in wdw's ability to do anything with a mindset of exceed expectations, that I can't even say I fear this or worry about it. I am genuinely convinced before this project even gets the green light that it will be a reduced version of California's.
WDW's Carsland will be just enough to get the incremental ticket sale while enjoying at least a 30 percent reduction in construction and expenditure costs. That's the WDW business model:( or so it seems to be most of the time.

Yes.

To be honest I think they are being lazy duplicating the DCA CarsLand at DHS. Use the space the put in something unique, but of the same caliber.

Disney gave up on being unique when they found out they can clone the same thing over and over again.
But seriously,
if they think it fits and it can pull in crowds, more power to them.

That's not their "business model" anymore. They went all out for the new Fantasyland, and now they are also expanding DHS and AK. The rewamped Test Track is getting very good reviews. They improved on Mermaid by building a more impressive show building and queue.
Granted, I think a lot of the impetus for this change comes from the Disney head office, but the result is the same. Also, even if they do scale down Cars Land due to size limitations, I don't think that's necessarily such a big loss.
The one criticism of CL that has really stuck is that the new land takes up more space than is necessary for the effect it produces. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy CL, but a 25%-30% reduction in its scale would have the same basic quality. Just look at Wizarding World, for example; does it need to be BIG to have an impact and immerse us in its theming? No.

Did you see the New Fantasyland before corporate stepped in? Instead of Dwarves mine train they were putting in another freaking meet and greet... Not to mention the "e-ticket restaurant", great build up that TLM queue creates for a lacking ride, nothing of any interest in Storybook circus, ugly railing around the "Casey Junior reclaimed sewer water happy fun place", ect... Test track does not count since it was payed for by Cheverolet. I give all the credit for that one to WDI. I have seen nothing that TDO has payed for that screamed change. I personally feel that new fantasyland is just like Animal Kingdom. Gorgeous to look at, but not a whole lot to do. Rides are expensive and do not directly increase profit. E-ticket restaurants and photo pass meet and greets do. Nothing has changed at TDO.

exactly. Everyone thinks WDW has changed and are now going to be awesome forever yet they are still yet to create an e-ticket attraction since Everest and thats 6 years ago now. clone RSR and sure I'm ok with that, your still keeping Pixar Studios as a concept, bring the entire cars land over and it will be the single worst thing to happen to DHS, and thats saying a lot, Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous was still open there only a little bit ago!
