Ok so I did Moldy Malestrom... and because of some questions about the CoP I decided to take a ride... on this now Fastpassed attraction...


Take your Fastpass to the front of the line.... with no one in front or back of you!


The whole theater had scuffs all around it like someone had run their sneaker across it and kicked it


Every door way is just dirty


And the doors are dirty and in need of a paint job


Pick a seat...


Any seat... they are all going to be disgusting


The animatronics were hit and miss. With various articulations either no longer working, or missing. However some of them were in top notch shape


He had full lip movement, but the guy in the 20's had no lip movement.

The scrims were in the best shape I have seen them in years, however the dust... oh the dust... was everywhere..

something has to be done about the condition of the theaters.

This ride needs a sponsor and a new theater, it's in pathetic shape and it looks like a third rate D ticket attraction. Not a flagship E ticket from the worlds fair. The animatronics need to be updated to A100 standard and receive a clean up, the theater itself has blown out speakers and looks like a cheap theater from the 70 (in TOMORROWland). However I can forgive the dirty outside because the thing is probably constantly getting hammered by Florida rain. It's truly sad to see the ride in such poor shape, thanks for pointing out that some of the effects are still working, that's always encouraging.

Anyway, FASTPASS?! What?! Who's the genius at TDO that thought this ride needed it? It's a high capacity ride that barely has a line half of the time!

I forgot to mention while I was on it, it broke down. I got to see the final scene 3 times! lol...

I have more pictures I will upload later. The TV in the final scene FINALLY got upgraded from the Tube TV to a large LCD.

Yeah they changed it at the end of 2009 (I think). Still doesn't fix the fact that no one mentions the World Wide Web.

I know it would probably require a new theater but I would like to see them update the ride and add more decades to the shows. It's a strange ginormous gap to go from 1900 to 1920s to 1940s and then into an unknown future.

Carousel of Progress...or carousel of eroded quality. We all love Disney Parks but as MCrs we have to call "Shenanigans" when quality is eroding. Time and time again we "foam" an higher prices and eroding Disney Showmanship.... We know what Disney Parks standards are suposed to be/or used to be. This is an all too common theme in the forum posts these days.

Seeing here the shocking conditions that the Carrousel of Progress has been left to deteriorate in has me thinking what is it going to take before WDW Management step up and start addressing these urgent matters. I also have to question why MiceChat would not post these images on the main site away from the forums where a bigger online presence is watching. If guys like Kevin, Eric and Cory featured these kind of images weekly it might get notice by the right people and finally something might be done. I'm kind of tired of the continued Lou Mongello style reporting being done by all WDW sites. I know MiceChat is more critical then other sites. But writing about it and showing photographic evidence are clearly two seperate things. And images like the above would really wake people up.

This is really sad. Carousel of Progress was my favorite ride in all of Disney World when I went last.

Still, thanks for doing these threads. It's good these kinds of things are getting attention of some sort.

they actually have fastpass for this or is this a Fastpass Plus experiment ?

It was a "surprise" fast pass. Basically no one is riding so they were bamboozling people with fake fast passes to convince them to ride.

this tactic has been used a number of times on other less popular rides.
