A Walt Disney World janitor found three hand grenades at Downtown Disney Wednesday, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
Investigators said the hollowed-out grenades posed no danger. They were found in a parking lot in an area open only to employees about 7:30 p.m., authorities said.
Deputies removed them about 10 p.m. and said they would blow them to be certain they couldn't hurt anyone.

It should put everyone at ease that Disney's staff and security went to great lengths to protect people against what ended up being fake props.

If they were found in a carpark open only to employees, does that mean they were likely put there by an employee?

I don't know about now, because I don't go into the store anymore, but when I was a kid Spenser's Gifts sold dummy grenades. Now, why would anyone throw them away is beyond me, but kudos to the janitor for going through the trash and to OC Sherifs office for responding properly.

Exactly... Disney and Orlando Sheriffs Department went above and beyond to ensure guest safety. I sincerely applaud this.
