    Poll about WDW bus system

We all have posted some strong opinions about the WDW bus system over the years, and I am interested to get some background on how one's experience with public transportation in general affects their opinion of the WDW bus system. I have been in various categories of this poll over the course of my life -- I grew up using public transportation very rarely, used it nearly every day while in college and just after, and now I'm back to using it rarely. I've always thought the WDW bus system was fine. Not as nice as a flying carpet or a horsedrawn pumpkin carriage, of course...

For the purposes of this poll, let's define "mass transit" as a public bus, subway, train, streetcar, or something of the like. School buses don't count

Re: Poll about WDW bus system

I'd don't need to use Mass Transit daily, because I could walk to work faster and most of the way there is no bus anyway.

I do use them sometimes and have been on many systems in different cities.

I like WDW buses compared to public systems because:
    1. They are very clean
    2. The Passengers are very nice and pleasant
    3. The keep the schedule very well
    4. They run often even when you are the only ones loading
    5. They are easy to load and unload
    6. They don't break down as often

I agree with you, swampy! The only time the bus isn't so great is at the end of the night, when it is overrun with crowds leaving the park, but WDW handles their version of "rush hour" well. There are always a few grumpy passengers, and standing up on the bus is no fun, but sometimes I just choose to wait for a new bus, which comes along in a few minutes.

I've got caught at the end of the day, or post parade/fireworks, rain caused rushes a few times. If you don't get on the next bus, usually there is one pulling in a couple minuted later that you will load. Standing isn't great but it's fine with me, better place than the person has sitting looking at by butt.

I use the buses because they are there and convenient, and they work for me 98% of the time. But there's that instance every now and then that really makes me dislike the system. Also, for Disney supposedly pushing the boundaries of guest experiences and technology, It's strange that their transportation system is no better than the one my small city runs.

I can't say I wouldn't prefer trains, but as bus systems go, WDW's is very well-run (daily bus commuter here).

I want WDW to install a Personal Rapid Transit system. PRT. I would love for us to just go to the front of any park, enter a pod that can seat up to 6. Tell the pod which resort or park we wish to go to, and have it take us away with no wait time, delays, or stops.

It's decent, but not very creative.

The WDW Buses are better than most public transportation systems, especially in SoCal. But because we like to check out hotels and other off-site things we always rent a car.

Ill say they operate the system good, but I dont like that they are still using buses I think Disney should go with an electric train, or even with electric buses if they have to keep them. But I think a public transportation system with less emissions would be great. And there's nothing like walking to the DTD buss stops and taking in a big whiff of diesel. It might be expensive at first, but could help in the long run.

Does anyone know if they use hybrid buses? I know my city does and Disney is all about being cutting edge ...right?
