    Re: Expedition Everest Video

I agree with the underwhelming part. Watching the videos was pretty anti-climactic. I mean, I've been following the progress, especially since I got back from my trip in Summer 2004, so I watch the video, and although I'm sure the ride experience is better, it just seems so....bland.

    SPOILERS

Like, the station area and stuff and the beginning of the ride until you start going backwards all looks choice, but then it's just a whole lot of dark, an okay show scene, some more choice roller coaster action both indoors and outdoors, and then another show scene right before the end.

Those dark areas may not be as dark as they appear in the video. If I try to record Pirates, I get mostly dark because the camera I have isn't that great with low light situations. So it's possible that there actually things to see in those dark areas, but I don't know for sure.

I just watched this and... Uh..? I realize that the cost associated with the Yeti means they can't make multiples of him, but I expected him to be as visible as the Lava Monster from JTTCOTE.

That's exactly what I thought when I first heard of this attraction, If the animatronic is so amazing then why do you only see him for like a second?

    SPOILER POSSIBLE

I think it would have worked better if they had the AA yeti when the track switches from back to front, it would been a much better place to show him off.

I agree with the spoiler from the above. Also, I feel the placing of the ACTUAL Yeti on the ride is so disappointing.

All I can say is wow! This ride looks amazing. I know that the video can't do the ride justice because we miss all the rollercoaster parts (due to darkness and too much sun). However, the Animated Yeti is great & the Yeti at the end looks great to. I think they achieved the perfect amount of time to show the yeti. It's long enough for us to see what it looks like and short enough for us to be surprised & wanting to come back to see it again.

I liked it - part of me wishes I hadn't watched, but at least I won't be disappointed. Before this I had visions of a Yeti striding out a cave and ripping up the track in front of you. Now I know what to expect I can enjoy it for what it is.

Listen fellas, that ride was great, but I could used a little more Yeti on that mountain.

I got a fever and the only prescription is more Yeti!

    Re: Expedition Everest Video

From people who have actually ridden, are the tunnels actually as unthemed as they look? I'm hoping they are not just painted black and that they actually look like caves and ice caverns like on the Matterhorn...just painting the tunnels black would be cheap, I feel. They didn't do that on Big Thunder...really, they haven't done that on any of the mountains that are actually themed to be natural mountains.

    Re: Expedition Everest Video

I am in no position to say, but I am almost 100% sure that the tunnels aren't painted black. I am curious as to whether the dark portions take place in actual tunnels, or if it happens in a "cavern" of the mountain.

    Re: Expedition Everest Video

The inside of the mountain can be painted black or the most detailed inside ever made (or even a bunch of random polka dots). The video camera (with that little light & moving that fast) is not going to pick it up. So my guess is that it probably looks how it's supposed to look (icy if it's a tavern & rocky if it's a tunnel).

    Re: Expedition Everest Video

Isn't anyone surprised that this video is out considering, that this ride is not officially open to guests yet? It is obviously not a disney made video so....WDI is probably not happy! I personally chose not to look at it. There is no way that this video can do the ride justice.JMHO.
