Characters In Flight is still around. The balloon was down for awhile though as they discovered a problem with the one at Disneyland Paris and since the same company operates the one in Orlando, it too was shut down for safety reasons while the problem found in Paris was resolved. They ended up getting an entirely new balloon, with a new design.

I believe rides are $16 or so. Not sure how long the ride lasts, but you go up at least 300 feet (I too have seen it rising up from behind the China pavilion at Epcot) I'm terrified of heights, so this is something I could NEVER do... unless they wouldn't mind me screaming line a banshee while curled in the fetal position the entire time.

I'd have to see it first, before I'd make the decision to ride. Does one need to make a reservation ahead of time, or is it a walk up type of thing?

I may have seen it from with in the park, but I know I saw it from the parking lot in the morning. It was a sight to see and it reminded me of the orange balloon of the same design at the "Great Orange Park" on the old El Toro Marine base in Southern California. I would see that up in the air while driving down the 5 freeway.

Downtwon Disney will be transfoemed to Disney Springs over 3 years
The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).

One more question. Do you have to pay to park at Downtown Disney?

No I do not believe so. The many times I have been there I do not remember any booths at the exits/entrances.

Parking is free at Downtown Disney.

When the new parking garages are built later this year however in prep for the huge Disney Springs redo, they may charge a fee.
Too early to know for sure at this stage.

Thanks for the Downtown Disney answers.

I used to know a lot of this stuff, but it's been a long while since I visited WDW.

I'm confused by what's written above. Is DTD going to forever be known as Disney Springs, or will that just be a portion of DTD?

ALL of DTD will simply become "Disney Springs"

I believe the Monorail wrap is actually going to be Thor 2 and not Iron Man 3 (could be wrong)

When the parking garages open they will be free because Disney will technically not own them since Reddy Creek the City Disney is in will technically own them.

    I hope this helps.
