Is taking the Keys to the Kingdom Tour worth it?

I am thinking about taking my brother on this tour as a birthday present to him in November. Other than seeing the Utilidors that he wants see what other highlights are worth seeing on this tour? We've been to Disney World several times but have not ever taken a tour. Thanks.

I think it's worth it. I found it to be a very interesting (and informative) tour. I've taken Keys to the Kingdom twice, and would take it again

It's a lot of fun and I'm glad I did it, but only if you don't mind having some of your park time eaten up. If you really want more time for the parks, I don't recommend it because it is very long. And it does require a lot of walking and standing (although they do let you sit down every once in a while).

I really enjoyed the tour. I had only been there once prior so it was a nice introduction to the history of the park. You get to see backstage and the utilidors. You get to cut the line on a couple of rides (We got Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise. Our guide did the narration of the cruise so that was a nice change of pace) You get lunch, a "free" pin. I think like anything else at Disney World the cast member will really make the difference for your experience.

I have done it once, and recommend it to any Disney fan. You see so much of the backstage area you really realize how huge the whole operation is! I am planning on taking the tour again next time I visit. If your friend has any food allergies or things he doesn't like to eat, when you book the tour let them know and they will make special lunch items for him.

I wanted to let you know I took the Backstage Magic tour, it was 7 hours but you see soo much more of everything. Just wanted to clarify. I recommend this tour if you have the time.

Re: Is taking the Keys to the Kingdom Tour worth it?

I've done it twice. My daughter had it on her wish list from age 12 until she reached the required age of 16 (applies to all backstage tours). She loved it. I liked my first one better than the second. The specific guide makes a big difference. Most of the spiel can be found in books like Mouse Tales and Realityland, and some of the backstage access can be obtained in the 5K and half/full marathons, but just because of the mystique, it is interesting to see the utilidor, even if you only see a very small and selected part of it.
