In the midst of tragedy and chaos look to the helpers....job well done Disney Cast Members! THIS is why we love Disney. We appreciate all you do to help others. You've made an impression that will last the rest of those girls lives!
Disney is always there even in the most dire situations in our lives. Disney took care of me at my time of need when I was across the U.S. from home and on a trip alone. I am eternally grateful. Walt was high on taking care of guests and that still lives on. This was a magical experience these little girls and their parents will never forget. It is hard sometimes to see the good in the world but it does happen more often than we know. God bless helpers everywhere.
I don't know if this cast member realizes the service she provided, in helping prove to these children that there are actually people in the world who want to help and spread joy. Thank you for sharing this and reminding us.
I think I cry about three or four times a decade, usually in a movie theater, but this article made me come very close. That unfortunate girl--it's extraordinary how resilient some people are.
There are many good "cast members" who are attracted to the opportunity to make people happier for a living. This is almost nothing compared to the preceding story, but trains at Disneyland pass through an area that could be considered "back stage" for the parade folks, yet even though the parade was over, the characters we saw ALL waved enthusiastically in character to our train. I was impressed by their professionalism & caring.
Disney still does a lot of very cool things. They are big supporters of Make A Wish, and pay for a ton of kids to come to Disneyland and Walt Disney World every year. I also really like going to Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom and learning about the different endangered animal rescue programs that they support. In addition, the Disney VoluntEARS is a big program that they pay for and always encourage all of their employees to get involved in
