As opposed to Disneyland's capacity issues due to the fact that the rides breakdown all the time. What's the point of Disneyland's huge ride roster when a dozen rides are not operational at any given time? Walt Disney World has maintenance problems? Sure some of the attractions may be moldy and the animatronics aren't always in the best condition, but at least the stuff stays open. In all the times I've been to Walt Disney World I've seen an attraction go down maybe three times and never for more than about an hour.
From what I'm reading on the Disneyland side of the forums, those parks aren't all that clean either and the newer cast is just as poorly trained as their Florida counterparts.
The lines also aren't as long in Florida as they are in California. How can you say capacity issues are creating longer lines when they are the same as Disneyland. Considering that Florida gets more visitors than California, I'd say the east coast is doing pretty well with the length of its lines. The parks are also bigger so you can actually walk through them without having to climb over people staking out spots for Fantasmic at 2 in the afternoon.
Walt Disney World does offer more. When was the last time you went horseback riding at Disneyland, or played a round of golf there, or rented a fishing boat, or visited a Disneyland Water Park, or watched a movie on the beach, or went to Disneyland's 5 story arcade, or went to one of the dinner shows? Never because it doesn't have those things. I know, that's not why you go to Disneyland. Well good because you can't go for those things, but there are people that go to Walt Disney World because of all that. Some people spend their entire Walt Disney World vacations without ever setting foot in a theme park. That was the intention behind Walt Disney World. Not to buy up all this land to fill it with dark rides and roller coasters, but to take all areas of vacation recreation and offer them in a single location at Disney's level of quality. That is why when the place opened it wasn't billed as Super Disneyland, it was The Vacation Kingdom of the World. If you look out across The Seven Seas lagoon and think, "what a waste of space" I really don't know what to tell you. Walt Disney World may not be more of the specific things you want, but it is infinitely more than what is available at Disneyland because here in Florida, we have the blessing of size.
