Bill and I are at everest, The ride is terriffic, almost perfect. It has great G's and Airtime, the yeti looks so perfect... More when I get home... Maybe photos.
Let me preclude this post with the fact that I am huge Disney fan.....not a Universal fanboy.
I just returned from Disney, and I thought Everest was awful. I was looking forward to this ride for over three years and it let me down in almost everyway. The storyline and theming are severly lacking, the coaster sections are dull outside of the one nice drop, and the queue area is a joke. If I wanted to look at a lot of nit-nacks on a wall I could visit my grandmother's house.
On the plus side the Yeti looks cool. However when he takes a swipe at the car there should be a nice drop ala Jurrassic Park for a thrilling climax. The ride ends so abruptly its a shock to the system. I think the storyline could be fixed with a pre-show video and onboard narration, but I doubt anything will be done.
This is the worst themed E-ticket that Disney or even Universal has ever created. I thought Everest would stomp the Mummy in Orlando, but even though the Mummy has been open for 2 years and Everest had the time to improve on that attraction, I feel they fell way short. The Mummy has a cohesive storyline and legitmate coaster thrills. Everest is just another Disney dissapointment in the line of Mission Space.
Disney hasn't created a legimate E-Ticket attraction since the 90's ended. Where is Villain Mountain when you need it????
