And before we get someone saying "but it's Art of Animation now and it's great!" don't pretend like Pop Century didn't have a wonderful view of an abandoned construction site for a decade =PPP

I wish we could see some art work of what was originally planned. The spaceship has my curiosity peaked.

I know I have seen concept art somewhere, toonaspie, but I can't find anything now - there was going to be a Buck Rogers themed pool, and the rocket was part of the decor for it. Not sure why they got it so early in the process, but stranger things have happened at Disney!

And sadly most of this is still sitting there.

It makes me feel weird knowing that the building of the hotel I will be staying in (Mermaid, art of animation) on my next trip sat abandoned for a decade.

Re: IO9 Article: The Trashed Remains of Abadoned Disney Projects

I took MANY photos of the abandoned "Classic Years" part of Pop Century the times I stayed at the hotel. It was fascinating and creepy. Couldn't get enough of it. I'm glad they finally did something with it but I still wish they would have done the "Classic Years" as planned as it could have been really cool for pop culture junkies like myself.
