What are the things at WDW (if any) do you think are overrated??

    My list are:

Toy Story Mania.. I don't understand why that ride can have an up to 4 hour wait...
Test Track .. Better since being redone but still not the thrill ride it advertises to be
Teacups... only because I cant handle it... lol
Fantasmic.. I am not a fan at all.. Its really far away and if you sit close you get that dirty mist on you... I always see it though because my son likes it but I would not shed a tear if it just went away.

I'm probably going to catch a lot of flack here but...

Soarin'. I went on it once and it was very "meh" to me. I mean, it was a nice ride, but I just don't get the big deal about it.

I love the ride but I can understand your feelings.. where were you seated? It's SO much better than the other two rows.

I like how the scents will match the scene...

    The value.
    The leaders.
The Rock and Roller Coaster. It looks cheap.
The Tower of Terror. They should have tried to surpass the Haunted Mansion by moving around a larger hotel, and not just down a hallway before the drop.
The Grand Floridian. Overbuilt and overpriced.
The Polynesian and the Contemporary. Overpriced.
    Turkey legs. Nasty.
    Pins. Boring.
The busses that transport guests. Oh boy, a touch of Detroit.
The fact that the Magic Kingdom has 17 million visits each year. Not equal to magic. Walmart gets millions of visitors too.
    The loud racetrack.
The stores in all of the parks.
Goofy. An annoying celebration of stupidity.
The princesses. Promoting wealth and power by heredity and marriage. UnAmerican.

Re: What are the things at WDW (if any) do you think are overrated??

Transportation........c'mon, buses (and ugly commuter-style ones at that) provide the lion's share of transport. You'd think the people who brought us Monorails, Peoplemovers and Skyway's could come up with something a little more imaginative

Dining Plans.............not only are they not really that great of a value but the whole institution has degraded the menu's at what were once some very fine dining establishments in the Resort.

Mission Space......Pretty much a cheap mall simulator mounted on a tilt-a-whirl. Don't get me wrong, I like it and it's fun but it certainly was not worth getting rid of the previous and much more awe-inspiring attraction.

Toy Story Mania (not even worth 20 minutes imo)
Soarin' (it's a good ride but the line is absolutely not worth it)
Teacups (you can find the same ride in any local midway carnival. i know the teacups are world famous and everything but i'm not really into it)
Princess Meet and Greets (admittedly i am not a girl and i don't have a daughter but even still the rate at which these things grow is ridiculous)
    Autopia (go-karts. demolish.)
Space-Ranger Spin (i like just riding through and looking at stuff, i've never been anywhere near good at shooting nor have i tried to be)
Test Track (not worth the line)
pretty much everything in AK except Dinosaur

Re: What are the things at WDW (if any) do you think are overrated??

TSMM and Soarin...why they are so hyped up at WDW vs DLR puzzles me.

Also, the dining plan. People go bonkers for free dining, and I guess it's a good deal if you have a family of 4 in a room, but there was NO WAy I could have eaten that much! not to mention all time time I'd have spent eating vs touring the parks!

last one, Fantasmi! I LOVE ours at DLR, it just seemed underwhelming at DHS and then this finale boat at the end just made me sad! They couldn't get a more impressive boat???

Re: What are the things at WDW (if any) do you think are overrated??

Soarin' - Poorly placed, barely themed, and not as thrilling as everyone makes it out to be.

Dinosaur - Whiplash in the dark while some moron repeatedly says, "not our dino" is not my idea of a fun attraction.

Everest - The yeti not moving only brings more attention to the fact that the track isn't that thrilling. Big Thunder Mountain is scarier. (Of course that may be because Big Thunder is awesome)

Test Track - Both versions of this ride have been pretty boring. Even the high speed sections are only slightly more thrilling than the car ride down World Drive most of the guests took to get to the park that day. That's not even taking into account what this empty, cheap looking show replaced.

DVC - Overrated because you can't go 20 feet without some lonely cast member at a kiosk gagging to tell you how great it is. I think the parks have more DVC kiosks than benches at this point.

Transportation - Every Walt Disney World commercial features the monorail, but they don't tell you that in doesn't serves about 80% of the property.

New Fantasyland - Is not the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history. The real winner of that distinction is the Tomorrowland expansion of 1972-75 that added The Plaza Pavilion Restaurant, If You Had Wings,The Carousel of Progress, Peoplemover, Rocket Jets, and a little known ride called Space Mountain.
It bothers me when people selectively edit quotes to support whatever point they are trying to prove.

Although I haven't personally experienced it for myself yet, I do believe that New Fantasyland is getting ridiculously over-hyped. It still kinda bothers me that Fantasyland is still split up between FL and New FL instead of feeling like one whole land like it should be.

Its not split up.. its one big area.. there is no seperation between the two... the names is only to refrence what is new and what isnt... I am not sure what you mean that they are seperate.

Re: What are the things at WDW (if any) do you think are overrated??

I don't really feel that anything in WDW is overated as much as I just don't feel it's worth it to wait more than 30~40 minutes for even the most popular ride. There's always something else to do and not have to wait.
