I was totally serious. (and at least it gave Mikey a reason to side with you, right ) Not all refurbishements done to the POTC turned out great.. especially when they made it politically correct. I will however, reserve my opinion until I see the finished product. Then will rate it.

    Exactly.

Yes I am serious. I'm not looking forward to some of the things rumored in this upgrade. Maybe WDI does an excellent job and makes me happy...but as of now this is not rating high in my book. I would have prefered the money to go a full top to bottom rebuild like IASW got with nothing new over what is rumored to be arriving.

    Yes, you are wrong.

    On both counts.

First, even though WDW has the Cliff Notes version of Pirates, it is still a wonderful attraction ... just not as good as the other versions.

And I don't see this as ruining either version. Plussing is a good thing, a very good thing. It keeps attractions from getting old ... and with classics like Pirates, makes them relevant for new generations. It's exactly why I want to see WDI update CoP, not rip it out for a cheap thrill ride.

Walt himself never wanted his park to become a museum. Pirates is a major movie franchise for Disney, and a quite good one. There is nothing wrong with updating Pirates to reflect this, so long as the heart of the attraction is left. And I believe it will be. I just wish I could have gotten on Pirates at MK one last time before the change, but I never made it over there.

So, wait until the redo is done to start complaining.

I didn't know that the Orlando version had a restaurant in the ride..

(This is the WDW section, both versions are getting updated.)

Wow, I'm actually agreeing with you here (you know, except for the whole if-you-don't-agree-with-me-you're-wrong part).

Of course u would because youd like nothing more than EVERY attraction made by WED from 55-84 to go up in flames, so your god Fitzgerald can make them 'relevant'. You probably broke champagne when Pooh ran over Toad w/ his hunney pot.

AND Tiki Birds WDW! (please....let the boring, extra long, 17 min, guests walk out every show Disneyland RIP...you'll say you love it, but, you really dont.
The WDW Tiki show SUCKS! I absolutely hate it. I saw it once and almost blurted out "What the *******?!" right then and there. Never saw the show again. Iago & Zazu ruined it for me. And yes I'm one of the weirdos who LIKED the Offenbach number.

...I like Ofenback too ( I love my 6 CD Disneyland set!) but still I found the new show an appeasing upgrade. Now it might need another one now...but still reworking isn't bad. The original one just lacked some "spark" in moments. Something that I think the CBJ doesn't suffer from...
    ...now uh...back to pirates...

I love the ride. I think that it will improve the look of the story line. Just don't
take "We wants the red head" out. I love that line.

We've received some additional information about the refurbishment of Pirates of the Caribbean, including some good news for those visiting during the peak weeks around Easter. When the attraction closes on March 1, work will begin on the first phase of the refurbishment, with upgrades to the ride system, pumps, flume walls, lights, speakers and some of the existing audio-animatronic figures.
Following the first phase of the work, which will not result in any major visible changes to most guests, the attraction will reopen in early April in time to soak up the spring break crowds. At the end of April, it will close again for the installation of the new Jack Sparrow and Barbossa animatronics, plus a projection-effect Davy Jones, which will reportedly be located in the "transition grotto."

Only in Florida, the plans at Disneyland keep the ride closed from March 6th all the way thru to June 24th.
