Annoying People on Great Rides

When I was reading the Trip post by SummerInFL, it made me remember about a couple of unfavorable trips I've had on some of my favorite attractions. It's amazing how much people can really ruin a ride. I can think of at least three.

1. Once, when I was riding Big Thunder Mountain (with a fellow Micechatter), there was a teenage girl who was sitting in the car just ahead of us. Throughout the entire duration of the ride, this stupid, annoying girl did nothing but scream at the top of her lungs. She wasn't scared, she was doing it to get a few laughs out of her (just as) annoying comrades. The trip was Hell on wheels, I hate high pitched sounds, and she was like a friggen siren!

2. When I was riding the Haunted Mansion, just like I'm sure this has happened to countless people before, some idiot in the next car decided everything was completely too scary for him. This twenty year plus dork decided that he was also going to scream at the top of his lungs, and then take the brightest flash pictures of it every five seconds. AHHHHH!

3. The third also happened on Big Thunder Mountain and it involves Cheerleaders. I have come to the conclusion that Cheerleaders are THE MOST ANNOYING PEOPLE ON THE PLANET!!!! Throughout the entire ride they were giving their stupid little cheers, and rhymes, and other pointless foolishness! People at the back of the train were yelling SHUT UP, my sister was completely POed, and I was having the most irritating (okay second most irritating) ride of my life!

Why do people feel they need to do these kind of things. Do they have something wired wrong in their heads that makes them thing that they are the only people riding the attraction. You know, when Disney spends hundreds of thousands of dollars creating soundtracks for these experiences, it's for a reason.

The worst part is, I couldn't confront any of them because I was a CM, and we can't start conflicts with guests!

What'R your thoughts?

Re: Annoying People on Great Rides

I have been there many times myself! Oh gosh, I absolutely hate it when it seems as though all the annoying people in the world seem to be magnetically attracted to you on a Disney trip. I have quite a few incidents like yours but this one is my favorite:

Well first I should tell you, my encounter was more with creepy people, rather than with annoying people.

Take for example the most awkward cruise around the world I have ever been on. It was horrible. 'it's a small world' is by far my favorite ride. (I hate to admit it, but it's true) The music, the bright colors, the glitter, it's all so fun. It happened on a day when not many people were at the park and so there were only two families on our boat. My sister and I sat in the middle row and a young family set in front of us. THE WHOLE RIDE the mother from the row in front of us sang along with the music staring directly into my eyes. Yes, I was serenaded. It was the most awkward 17 minutes of my life.

It may not have been a camera flashing, or loud yelling, but it was enough to ruin my ride.

Screams dont bother me anymore because i live with two very shrill little sisters ages 6 and 11, but i definately sympathyse with you, and i can't stand cheerleaers (espeshialy ones who insist upon cheering in the absence of anything to actualy encourage.)

What'R your thoughts?
These kind of guests need to be dealth with, and I for one think it's about time Disney stopped being soft about poor guest behavior and did something about it...like escorting these guests out the door. Like those dumb girls in suggestive photo poses at HKDL... get them thrown out!
Seems to me some people are so conditioned by the thrill-a-minute scream experiences from other parks..they don't get the idea behind DL being a place for all family members to enjoy together. It's so unnecesary!

Now I am mad!!

Re: Annoying People on Great Rides

My niece Morgan is very outspoken. One trip on POTC we were in a boat full of teenage, giggly girls. They did that high pitched, breaking glass type screaming over and over. Finally Morgan had had enough. She yelled "STOP IT, This ride isn't scary and you are hurting my ears"!!! She was 5 at the time.

We didn't hear one more peep out of them.

I love her so much.

It happens all the time. For example someone turns on their darn camcorder light on. Some people are just so inconsiderate of others.

Has anyone here NOT had the misfortune of experiencing screaming teen girls on the HM? DH and I must attract them or something.

I Love cheeleaders, they are just so bubbly and full of...

life...

I like to cheer back to them ("2-4-6-8 you're just stupid Jailbait" or "Your like a bike, no need to beg/ You don't need help to spread your legs") and really mock them very loudly in the super mocking valley voice. I have yet to use them though, so Gods help them when I need to use it.

Damn people having fun! Disney needs to stop their happiness.

Although I have had similar experiences (while waiting in line for WWtbaMPI, these people were singing annoying songs), I just ignore them. They are having fun, that's what Disney World is all about.

I can't stand that ultra high pitched I'm screaming to get attention stuff. Our last trip, my husband and I were ending the evening (and the trip) on Thunder Mountain. Had the same thing happen in a car in front of us. By the end of the ride, when it was slowly entering the docking area, she was still going crazy.

The guy behind us said (rather loudly), "Geeze, I wish someone would die!"

His companion said (just as loudly), "I think someone did."

She stopped.

Re: Annoying People on Great Rides

The worst seem to always be in the Mansion... usually teenagers yelling at everything, going "Ooo! Scary!" like they're too old to enjoy it or something. Feh.

And then there's World Showcase... I only mind the alcohol being served when a bunch of drunks keep following me EVERYWHERE, even on Maelstrom.

Re: Annoying People on Great Rides

I'm just curious, how many people here have said a spiel while it was actually going on (like in the HM stretching room or during the fireworks)? Although these people do annoy you guys, I can guarantee that you do something on your trip that annoys someone else.

I have, but I always make sure to lip-synch. This way I can have my fun, and others can too. It's possible to have fun without ruining it for everybody else. Some people are just trying to have fun, but some take it way too far. Your personal enjoyment should not cause everyone else to have a horrible time, that's not what Disney World is all about. People can just be inconsiderate. Most of the time they're breaking the rules anyway. Taking flash pictures and having a camcorder light on are big no-no's. Being angry with that is more than justified.

Re: Annoying People on Great Rides

/\ In a public room I lip-synch too just to not annoy those around me.

I have to say I don't have a problem with screaming on rides, high or not. I enjoy screaming, loud and long on rollercoasters so this doesn't get to me.

However teenagers in groups, cheerleaders or not, get to me. There is just a thing that says "group IQ is lower than individual IQ" and they still get left alone...go figure.
So in HM people just act like dorks because it's funny to them and they have no actual sense of what is funny and what is just being a moron. Yeah that gets to me, when they yell or when they try to talk to each other from buggie to buggie.

But what annoys me the single most and should be banned...South American tour groups. Any group that has to wear same colored shirts to not get lost from each other should be banned. Any group that wants to pull the "No English" card and join the 1 person who actually waited in line should be banned. Any group that wants to do soccer chants ANYWHERE in the park should be banned. Any group that wants to take lots of photos of each other on PoTC should be banned. I detest those groups if you havn't noticed. They are loud, they cut in lines, they are misbehaved little cretins and it's a shame they drive a big chunk of WDW's tourism because I could go for them not coming back.

Though it is great when as a group people get POed at them and shut them down. Nothing like a good old "USA!" by an entire stadium of Fantasmic waiting Americans to shut up a group of soccer chanting Brazillians vs Portugese.
See this thread...no good. Lol Now I am all aggrivated.
