TDLFAN is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Magical Express

Yeah but that is because the other transport companies at the Airport (you know.. the ones that have opposed Disney doing this with claims they are stealing their business away with unfair advantages such as placing Express CM's just outside of security in the 3rd level of the terminal...) are keeping their prices competitive so they can still get some business in the MCO-WDW corridor... God forbid Disney ever charges more than them poor small business limo services at MCO....

Re: Magical Express

I'm to arrive to MCO on May 16th and I made my reservation with DME in February. Is it a concern that I have not received anything from DME yet?

Re: Magical Express

That is weird. I arrive at MCO on the 31st and just got all my luggage tags and whatnot yesterday. You should call someone soon.

I believe you are supposed to get them at least 7 days before. So if you don't get it by tuesday, I'd call them.

Re: Magical Express

Okay. I did call them. They had the wrong dates. It's been fixed (I used Travelocity, and they took care of it for me). I called DME to confirm and they said that it had been taken care of. Of course, I won't be receiving the luggage tags, and I'm hoping to pack everything I need on a carry-on.

Thanks everyone for your help! I hope the logistical side of my trip is good. The rest, is up to me when I get there!

I agree, give 'em a call on Tuesday if they have not arrived. We arrive on the 15th and received ours 2 weeks ago.

ETA - opps! Just saw your response. I must have posted at the same time.

Re: Magical Express

Thanks, CAStampinMel...

Since I won't be receiving any information in time, can I just pick up my luggage at the claim and walk over to the que to pick up my vouchers?

I'm fearing that I can't check my baggage in without the risk of losing it; I'd rather just pick them up and wheel them to the DME check-in. I'm hoping that's possible.

Do I resort to a carry-on? What can I expect/do?

Thanks again!!

Re: Magical Express

Having worked DME, I would say there is one important thing that everyone should know:

If you are arriving in Orlando after 6pm, you need to be aware that your luggage may not arrive until the next morning. If your luggage does make it from the airport that night, you still might not get it. While most (if not all) of the resorts offer 24-hour delivery, you need to request it after midnight. Otherwise, your luggage just sits there until morning.

In fact, if I were going to use DME after midnight, I would elect to carry my luggage myself and just use the transportation aspect of the service.

Just my opinion of course.

Re: Magical Express

Okay, I think this is the last question. I received the tags via UPS 2-day, which was cool.

Anyway, I am landing at MCO at 3:45pm. I've read that there are rare cases that the luggage do not arrive on time, which happens.

If I choose, can I just not use their tags and just pick up my check-in bags at the baggage claim and make my way to Level 1?

Thanks!!!! Tuesday is around the corner!

Re: Magical Express

I have decided that on my next vacation to WDW, and my first use of Magical Express, I am going to travel with just a Carryon, and do laundry at the World. That will put my mind at ease about lost luggage, and also force me to perhaps hang at the pool one day and just enjoy myself, while doing a load or two of laundry.

/\ Bravo! Best way to do it. One carryon per person. If you try you can fit it all in one bag...though some teenage girls and other I know have some trouble with that concept...lol.

You wouldn't believe some people! We had a guy one time who rode with us in our Mears towncar who seriously brought 4 suitcases. This was ONE PERSON! Something tells me he just had to take that mobile meth lab along with him to the resort.

So does this mean that since we're arriving in MCO at 6:45ish our luggage won't arrive until the next morning unless we take it ourselves to Pop Century? Bummer...

It might not arrive until the next morning. It may arrive a few hours after you get there, it may arrive on time, it may arrive at midnight (wherein you'll have to call them to get it). If you really want to be on the safe side, either pack an extra pair of clothes in your carryon or just take the baggage with you after arriving at MCO.
