As for my selection of attractions / pavilions that are listed here in in "Part 2", I honestly cannot make up my mind, I love the archetecture, grounds food, entertainment, art and everything else about each of the pavilions. Illuminations and Tapestry of Dreams are each unique and amazing!

While I appreciate the kind word, it was sarcasm directed towards the lack of a poll attatched to this thread when it was posted.

But it's a great poll idea anyway, so it works either way.

Illuminations rocks no matter what, and I think Germany pushes itself over the edge, mainly due to the model train town---so fun to watch that thing!

Re: EPCOT's Best World Showcase Attractions / Pavilions: Part 2

I feel that Germany and the UK are the best. I have to say that Italy is the most lacking. Italy has such a rich history. SOOO much could have been done. Venice is a wonderful theme. I visited the real Venice in 2004. It has a magic about it that is like Disney magic. Unfortunately, the missing Venetian canals and gondolas, weaken the "Venice" themed Italy pavilion. Again, there is SO much that could be done there. Also there is the Roman connection. All of that could have made this the most spectacular of the pavilions, but instead it is the most disappointing.

On the other hand, Germany seems to communicate the magic of the country. It has charm and a certain quaintness. The UK too has a small town feeling to England. That is much better than trying to reproduce London, for example. Over all, both pavilions represent their country well.

Italy COULD have been much better, but I don't think at the time they were up to the engineering task of creating a "flooded city" prtion which would have been really cool.

Italy was the only one I couldn't chosse I just feel that there was so much more that could have been done with thier pavillion. I would love to have seen Venice represented there or even Rome.

Italy was supposed to receive recreated Roman ruins as well as sites of the southern part of the country in the 1980s, but like the German Rhine River Cruise or Meet the World showin Japan or all the pavillions designed but never built ... just didn't happen.

World Showcase is the best!!! I consider it the "social studies" aspect of the social studies/science theme park. Or, as my 4 year old called it, "Think Park." Who can't feel closer to the rest of the world when meeting the good-natured ambassadors working at the various pavillions? My family and I have a ridiculous amount of wonderful memories from the interaction with the interns from the other countries.
The best part of WS, however, is undoubtedly France...where was it on the poll? Of the countries listed, though, the best choice had to be the serenity provided by Japan.[smilie=3,18,15]

I voted for RoE & Other Non-Pavilion Attraction. The other attraction is Tapestry of Nations. That was (and still is) my favorite parade of all time. The music, the movements and the message it gave were all simply amazing.
