Talking Yeti Hype (getting pumped for Expedition Everest!)

Who else is pumped about Expedition Everest? It is not officialy opened but staff members are giving out ride vouchers to random guests. The next time I go I will stand by a cast member all day asking " can i get a voucher". Or maybe do a protest "what do we want? everest voucher when do we want it? Now!"

Uh, it may not be officially opened yet (despite advertisements in hotel rooms and all over WDW), but if you want to ride you don't need a voucher. Go ask one of the Information people at one of the parks and they'll be able to call DAK and tell you when it's running and what day it will next be running if it isn't. It only seems to run to about 2PM, but plenty of people here have been on multiple times.

They also sometimes like to leave voicemail in all hotel rooms around the resort telling Guests about EE being open that day as well.

You don't need a voucher just go to AK and get in line. Disney is advertising it and running it like it is 100%...I went the last two Saturdays and it ran all day both days.

Yep. I got on it in early Feb. Keep in mind though that they could close it at anytime for any reason. I rode it around 11AM and it was closed at 1PM!

There was a message on our room VM that indicated the times it was open that day. Unfortunately, the VM didn't show up till early evening that day, so I don't know that I'd depend on that too much. I would do what MM said and call Information.

Have a good visit there and hope you get to ride E:E!

My family took a vacation Jan 30, 2006-Feb 4th. They opened up this ride the day we got there for trial runs. My husband and brother rode first while sister & law and I watched the kiddos. They came out smiling. Gave us the advice to try and sit in the front car. We waited all of 5 minutes to get the front of line and then another 2 minutes for the separate front row line. It was so worth it. This ride is so much fun. The shadowy Yeti that jumps out during one of the track changes is great, and the backwards track changes were unexpected and huge fun. Front row was so worth the little extra wait. 15 foot Yeti at the end was unexpected as well. Of course, some of the thrill of the unexptected was gone when we rode the second time, but still a "fun" coaster. Smooth and just good fun. Best at WDW in my opinion. Can't wait to go back!

Re: Yeti Hype (getting pumped for Expedition Everest!)

Everest was open two weeks ago and I rode with the family 3 times, Its a blast and a well done ride. The ride's overhead and economics are for another board and should be discussed, but Everest now stands alone in AK as the major attraction.

If you are going in March, I would expect daily openings. In late February, the following was done:

    Sunday-Open
    Monday-Closed
    Tuesday-Closed
    Wednesday- 1/2 Open
    Thurs-Sun- Open

That was the schedule for the pre-open and minor construction was still going on. You should be fine for March and HAVE A BLAST!
