What would you say the best restaurant is for each park?

I'm curious. Normally when I'm in the parks I just grab something quick and keep going, however when I'm in Epcot I like to try some of the nicer restaurants for dinner.

If I were to go back and be willing to spend more time to eat in each park, what would be your recommendations regardless of price.

I dunno about you guys but to me restaurant implies table service not quick service or counter service.

restaurant = sit down w/ waiter

    n. A place where meals are served to the public.

So that includes counter-service and even some ODV carts.

Theres a difference between being clever and using a word with its definitive dictionary connotation, and using common sense.

Re: What would you say the best restaurant is for each park?

Hmmm....choosing places I have dined at and really enjoyed the experience.

MK - Liberty Tree Tavern, the food isn't the best but this one combines all the elements I like out of a Disney character meal well.

MGM - The Hollywood Brown Derby Cobb Salad, Grapefruit Cake, and BD's cocktails make my heart flutter.....mmmm

Epcot - Le Cellier I have now mastered making the Cheddar Cheese Soup at home, now to conquer the Maple Creme Brulee.

AK - Tusker House or Flame Tree BBQ RFC sucks....it just does...in every way...at every location...and I've been to 4 of them around the USA. AK really needs a nice table service place inside the park....STAT!!!!

Resort (throwing this one in there) - Jiko

On my trip in May, I will be trying out Rose & Crown, California Grill, and Raglan Road for the first time....

Re: What would you say the best restaurant is for each park?

    Magic Kingdom - Pecos Bills
Epcot - Cantina de San Angel
Disney-MGM Studios - Hollywood and Dine
Disney's Animal Kingdom - Tusker House

You can tell I'm not very high-class when it comes to what I put in my mouth.
Plus, I don't know why but the waffle cone vanilla ice cream at DAK is the best in the entire resort.

Re: What would you say the best restaurant is for each park?

Outside the parks, my faves are Maya Grill and Concourse Steakhouse - both seriously worth it with the dining plan

    In the parks...

MK - I have a definate affinity for the sandwich side of Cosmic Rays, but as far as sit down goes, I think the Plaza Inn is cute, and dining at Cindy's is fun (though i did it a day a hurricane came through so we were pretty much there alone, with the stained glass boarded up, and did i mention the tower atop Sir Mickey's shop fell off (ok, they had a crane holding it, but it broke off and went "Boom") into the plaza as we were leaving?)

Epcot - I like the Biergarten and the UK. Lots of the others are still good, but I can say I don't like Canada (that soup is super salty and SO overrated), Mexico (bland and cramped) or Italy (cramped and mediocre). I don't like having to slide my butt over other people's tables.

MGM - I didn't really like anything there, I risk starvation being in that park too long. If anything, I loved the gingerbread men they give out during the spectacle of lights, and I used to love Starring Rolls before it stopped selling just pastries.

AK - I like Tusker House's food, but the view from Flame Tree rocks. I'd love to try Jiko at AKL though...

Lol since it sounds like you wanted Sit-Down recomendations:

    Magic Kingdom - Plaza Restaurant.
    EPCOT - Biergarten.
    Disney-MGM Studios - 50s Prime Time Cafe.
Animal Kingdom - Take the bus to the Wilderness Lodge and go to Whispering Canyon Cafe.

I know what it means. But i also knows what it implies. In the world of Disney we alsways talk about Table service and counter service. When I read the threads 1st post i thought table service restaurants were what was implied not counter service. especially since table service is better quality than counter service.

I agree with you about DAK needing a table service joint. Good thing they are planning on putting one in near E:E in Asia. Phew...

I ate at Jiko just last week with my girlfriend. I thought it was pretty good. Theres a lot of things on the menu that I wasnt sure about so you might end up trying something youve never heard of before. But our waitress was really nice and helpful. The decor and atmosphere is top notch. It was a little expensive... $110.00 for the two of us! I do recommend trying it out though but now I want to eat at the buffet across the way.

Do you enjoy cheese and beer based soups? If you do, you may want to try making this soup yourself. I make it slightly different from what the recipe calls...and I find it suits my tastes much better. I use turkey bacon instead of real bacon, which cuts down on the salt content and as well as other changes. I'm not a salt fan at all, but I do love me some cheese/beer together in a soup or a fondue.

I totally agree on Mexico...it's downright sinful Mexican food can be bland. I've heard their mole is really good, but I don't really like mole to begin with...

And I have never given Italy a chance, doubtful I will when there are sooo many other options at WDW. I purposely do not seek out Italian food while travelling because I'm... well part Italian...I get excellent Italian food whenever I want. When in Rome as they say....
