    Re: Expedition: EVEREST Q&A

Ok, hopefully, even though this thread is on like the 5 page now, this will be seen, but I have a sort of off topic question. When you first walk through the entrance of Asia from Discovery Island, on the right hand side there is this abandon asian building, when you go inside there is a register and a small counter with asian pictures and adds all over the walls, there is also a picture of the mountains, outside there is a small wooden structure with 3 stools in it. I was just wondering what they used to call this building, on the maps now its just considered a smoking area? Please help, this is for a contest. Thank you very much if you can help, and yes, I went on everest lately, and the Yeti was in perfect working order, thanks!

    Re: Expedition: EVEREST Q&A

what is the differences between a-mode and b-mode?

When I rode the other week.. the only time I rememebr seeing the yeti was in the shadow projection.. and SOMETHING way up high right at the end of the ride? Looked like another shadow thing?

People keep saying how great an annimatronic the yeti is.. but I swear I didn't see himi

A - full light and the yeti is moving under it's own power...

B - Strobe light with fans blowing it's fer gicing an impression of it's moving...

The yeti is right at the end of the mountain before breaking then turning in to the station...I havn't had a B mode but it might appear as being near shadow in the right cars....

    Re: Expedition: EVEREST Q&A

^^^ You most likely experienced the "B-Mode" then. I've experienced both, so this is what I'll tell you about them...

A-Mode: The "true" and intended version. This has a mixture of red/orange/yellow/ and some blue lighting.. that all face towards the Yeti. From a distance, the Yeti swings around and roars, until you travel right underneath him and he "swats" at you with his huge arm.

B-Mode: This is for when there is a problem with the Yeti and it isn't working. Instead of just sitting there dark, strobe light effects are used and winds are blown on the idle Yeti to give it the appearance of moving, but it is very hard to make it out as it is dark and you only see short flashes of it. This version is not intended to happen every so often... it's not some random and special version that some people think it is (a la Tower of Terror). It is only for when the Yeti is malfunctioning.

Yes, that's all correct. Keep in mind that there is no way to know for sure if you'll have the A or B mode... though if a CM has been in the tower that day at Everest, they're bound to know... though they won't necessarly tell you. lol
