All''s hanging on the May 5th Press event, and from what It looks like, it won't be an announcement of the 50th attractions but rather some big new things coming afterwards. This is also tied to the rumour that the EPCOT wand is going down around that timeline.

Ohhh.... i know i'm probably the only one, so you don't have to reply and say how stupid i am, but i really liked the wand (since they changed it to say Epcot. I wasn't very fond of it when it said 2000)

Disney Decade. I thought it was pretty successful, until Mikey lost sight of it. Sure maybe ALL the things promised didn't happen, but look what DID happen. WHy must everyone pick on the negative aspects? Disney Decade gave us the original (and best) Tower of Terror. EVen if only a few of the things Stitch said make it to reallity, it's still something. And i can't wait!

WDW has tons of space, small things like this arn't seen as total wastes in WDW because there's always more room to build more (this is probably also why nobody complains about the mall entryway) WDW just doesn't have to value land the way the other Disney parks do

it is annoying that everything temporary becomes perminant

There's an ongoing rumour within the WDW circles that there's gonna be a HUGE announcement during the May 5th Press events with all new E-tickets which one Supervisor has quoted will "knock your socks off". With EPCOT's 25th right around the corner as well as AK's 10th, WDW will be having a lot to celebrate about in the coming years and with all these festivities comes new growth and development.

Basically what is expected to be announced are:

A new "e-ticket" in the olf 20k area, behind the Pooh playground

    A new "E-ticket" for Adventureland

Something Big to happen to EPCOT

Something BIG to happen to AK after EE

    A new E-ticket at MGM

    ........Sounds fair to me
this seems a bit much to me

I can see each park geting one Eticket or something but I can't see them giving the MK two etickets consecuativly like that

Epcot still needs more reworking and MGM really could use another Eticket

as far as AK goes I've heard they have plumbing issues or something? that may keep them off of large expansion for a while

I don't know about buldozing but a fantasyland remake would be great for WDW's MK but sadly I've heard such a thing is impossible with the Utilidoors or something (I also can't see them closing down an entire land for something like this)

Toontown would also be great for a remake though and I really wish they would consider remaking it like Disneylands/Tokyo's

    except indoors and more modern

Sure. And Michael Eisner is about to be named the next Pope.

It's amazing how crazy rumors spring forth and grow like Florida wildfires in CM and Internet circles.

Those 'big' additions likely add up to well over half a billion dollars at the least.
I would seriously doubt anything major is announced at the press eating and drinking festival in May. Something minor, possibly.

it depends, USSUALY these internet sites do have a ton of specific data on something before it's announced but then again WDW can get away with afew things that Disney can't in the way of additions

but huge additions are very unlikly to be suprises or we would've heard about them (or at least vague things such as theme or ride system)

however I do hope that plans for the future will be announced as obviously Disneyland will look beyond the 50th once the 50th is underway

I guess you could say Disneyland gets SUBS for lunch while WDW gets POOH for dinner.

Sorry, guys. I wish this was true. Jay Rasulo announced over a year ago that he was cutting spending in Parks & Resorts. Expect the two new attractions in Anahiem (that everyone knows about) and nothing for WDW. Rasulo will not spend the money. People don't seem to realize that he has the same background as Pressler and the same objectives...cash and a fast exit. He just doesn't look as bad because he came in when the Parks had hit an all time low. All he had to do was bring Matt Ouimet over to DLR and put some more money into maintanance to look like a hero. He has no interest in another Disney Decade. He wants a successful 18 month celebration so he can look for another job and jump ship on a high note. He'll let things crash and burn in the long term. He is a short term MBA--willing to screw-up the parks in the long term for some quick cash now. WDW will get nothing for years to come.
