    Coffee at WDW

    Hey guys,
Is there anywhere on property, besides Kona Cafe and Artist Point, where I can get a good cup of real coffee? That is, when I order coffee, I get something other than Nescafe crap? Thanks!

I assume the Writers Block at MGM is perfect for your needs.

Check it out. It has everything, and for reasonable prices - unlike the majority of the property.

    Re: Coffee at WDW

I'd be wary, however, for Nestle (tends to run some of the food service options, from my understanding...anyone have more information on this?) produces that drivel "Nescafe" stank that is served at Disneyland. And if it's the same over at WDW, I dunno, just be careful.

You want to see a type-A micromanage? I bring my own coffee and just use their coffeemaker back at my hotel room. Yes, I'm that a-retentive. Or, like the last time I was there, we stopped at a coffeeshop off site, bought a pound (I already had the filters) and again, just used their coffeemaker in the room.

The sit-down locations tended to have better coffee then the counter services.

I've not visited The Writers' Block, but I trust Speedie, and if he says it's good, I'd go with it.

Can you do me a favor? Report back if it's decent or not.

Peace until then and enjoy the java,

    Re: Coffee at WDW

Part of my problem with WDW is there isn't really any venue that has REALLY good coffee.

But I'm a Texan though, and our coffee is slightly different.

    Re: Coffee at WDW

Haha! I debated bringing my own coffee too, but then I wasn't sure if there was a coffee maker in the room (I'm staying at the WL.....does anyone remember a coffee maker?). I'll be sure to give a java update when I get back. And don't worry Speedway....if it's not Nescafe, it will be decent.

Nescafe has made its way to WDW. I've found that if you dilute half a cup of Nescafe with half a cup of water and add lots of cream and sugar, it's tolerable. But....I'd rather forego that experience again if at all possible.

    Re: Coffee at WDW

Meanwhile, Nescafe may be stank, but isn't it nice to be somewhere without 19 Starbucks locations left, right and center at all times? Talk about escapism.

Just give me a grande or venti (if I really need to wake up) white chocolate mocha and I'm a happy camper. I also love their oatmeal raisin cookies and blueberry muffins!

Hey, I'd settle for Starbucks any day(though I don't go off resort once I'm there). Last time I was there, I got a pastry at Fountain View Cafe in Epcot. They have really yummy desserts, so I assumed that they would have better coffee. Nope - it was Nescafe.....so disappointing! The pastry would have rocked with good coffee.

Though, I agree, the absence of Starbucks is rather refreshing. That further adds to the "escapism" feeling you get while you are there. No Starbucks? Where am I?

In Epcot there is a coffee stand between Canada and the UK in World Showcase and another just like it near Test Track/Ellen's Energy that serves a little better cup of coffee than the usual.
