Pictures that remind you of WDW game

Ok, so I was driving around Tallahassee, my old hometown, yesterday and I noticed something about myself. I am constantly seeing places and things that remind me of scenery or rides or something from Walt Disney World. For instance, I drove past the civic center in Tallahassee and from a certain angle it looked very similar in shape to what horizons used to look like. When I left the mall later on that day I noticed that it has a glass pyramid on top of it and I immediately thought of the Journey Into Imagination Pavilion at Epcot. So I thought of a fun little game we could play on here.

The basic idea is this. Whenever you see some scenery in your travels that reminds you of WDW in some way, snap a picture of it and then come post it here and tell us why. Or if you come across a picture online that reminds you of WDW in some way, then post a link to it and tell us why.

The only rule is that it must be something that is totally unrelated to WDW but somehow brings back a memory of the parks in some way.

Unfortunately I didn't have a camera to get pictures of the two spots in Tallahassee, but I did see this picture in a caption this contest on another message board a while back and the first caption that came to mind was this quote: "If you had wings, you could fly." Nobody else got it, but it made me laugh.

Well, there's a very good reason for that... Cinderella Castle was based on it.

Yeah. Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland was based on the Neuschwanstein, and while Cinderella Castle took inspirations from it, it was more closely based on Chateau D'Ussee.

If you use your imagination slightly, Cinderella Castle looks like a stretched Sleeping Beauty Castle in a different colour. Same main building... same locations of towers... okay, CC has a few more towers but the likeness is there.

There is an Arby's in Richmond that reminds me of the Wilderness Lodge every time I eat there. The restaurant has this western cowboys and indians theme, with totem poles, western murals, and those awesome mission style windows.

Here are a few shots of the Arby's. All pictures were found at This Website.

For those who are not familiar with the WL, here are a couple of shots I took in May:

Great thread! I love the idea.

Edit: Website link didn't work in first post.

    Wow.... best Arby's ever.

Do those delicious sandwiches taste even better, too?

I do the same thing, especially with hidden mickeys. Lemme think, Talahassee...what does the new capital remind you of? Wait, lemme guess, the spire on the original cover of The Little Mermaid VHS.

I get it from some rather odd feels and smells and sounds...

Sometimes it'll be smelling a diesel-fueled truck to remind me of the buses...

Sometimes it'll be a weird AC and warm air blast that seems to happen all the time on the buses...

I ate at this horrible little Mexican restaurant over on Okaloosa Island the other night. The inside has attempts at theming and has this little river that runs through it. It reminded me of the Mexican pavilion. If they'd have had a boat running through it I might have actually liked the place. lol
