Question WDW on Forth of July

Are there any special events? Do they do anything (fireworks etc.) that they don't do the rest of the year?

I don't know but I did consider going. I imagine the crowd levels are ridiculous.

I heard there's a "patriotic" tag at the end of the fireworks in MK and Illuminations at Epcot.

Yes, the fireworks are a bit more extravagant and the crowds will be crazy. Lines, heat, lines, heat...I'm getting hot and tired just thinking about it.
Warning: Portions of this attraction are intense and may not be appropriate for younger children.

Re: WDW on Forth of July

I was at WDW for the 4th of July last year...they do a lot for the 4th. I believe Disney-MGM Studios did a special show that night and the Magic Kingdom did a special presentation of Fantasy In The Sky Fireworks, instead of Wishes. They projected an American flag on the castle and the show lasted about 10 minutes longer than Wishes normally does. Let me tell you, the Magic Kingdom was packed. Packed. Barely able to move packed! I had to steer my family around all the secret little twists and turns that the park has, like in Liberty Square getting over in front towards the Cysatal Palace. Speaking of the Crystal Palace, make reservations there, if you can, during the time the fireworks would be presented. We did that last year, and right before they began all the waitors and waitresses let us stand on their empty porch/deck waiting area which gave us an empty and elevated viewing space of the fireworks.

Great advice! I will consider the Crystal Palace. Do they do these fireworks/shows on the 4th only or all week?

Re: WDW on Forth of July

They are doing the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks on both Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th... 9 p.m.
I have never actually seen these fireworks, but from what I've heard they are 360 and unlike Wishes you can see them from anywhere in the park
I haven't heard anything about special shows at any of the other parks... but instead of having two Fantasmics, MGM is only having one, and Illuminations will be at 10:30... no 9 o'clock show

Crystal Palace is usually quite crowded... on a regular night... and I would say that it would probably be best to get on reservations right now
It is a good place to see the fireworks
And, yes, it will be insane... I'm getting off work at 8:45 p.m., my managers have been saying that there is no way that I will be able to get out of the park so it will be best for me to bring a change of clothing and to stay and watch the fireworks

As much as I love Wishes.. I do miss Fantasy in the Sky, and if the revampted version for the 4th of July version is anything like the New Years fireworks, it is even better! For New Years they added Perimiter Fireworks and then some for the finally... very very awesome

But not matter which of the three parks with the fireworks shows you go to, you can not go wrong.
Thank You for dropping by my post. I do hope you enjoyed your stay....

Hmmm. You ask for opinions, and then are upset with the answers? I hope you have a great time, but you couldn't drag me to the MK on the 4th of July with a team of horses! Hot, packed, and did I mention hot and packed? Good luck to you and yours!

Dan, I was being sarcastic! Plus, I wasn't asking for opinions I was asking if there were any special events.

As for me, there is not any day of the year that I would rather be ANYPLACE but a Disney theme park.

I have been there on some busy days: Easter week, New Years Eve, Labor Day, Memorial Day.

A team of horses couldn't drag ME away.

I reread post # 5, and there was nothing in there to indicate that you were kidding in any way. Sorry to misunderstand, but you sure made it easy to.

And I guess we'll never storm the parks together on a jam-packed day, will we? Claustrophobia makes it tough to take the crush. But please, you go and have fun - no sarcasm!

    Fair enough.

Perhaps we can hang out at the Blue Bayou once they allow fine cigars.
