San Angel or L' Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante

My wife and I just booked our trip for Next month and made all or our restaurant reservations. We haven't been in 3 years and can't wait to go.

Our first night there we are planning on heading to Epcot and since we got the dining plan we were going to do a sitdown restuarant, we just aren't sure which one to do so which is better San Angel or L' Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante for our first night at Epcot? We only have time to do one.

Opinions? Thoughts greatly appreciated!

When I was there in May I didn't go to San Angel, due to the fact that I reside in Austin, TX and it would be pretty hard for a Disney mexican restaurant to compete with what I can get here in Austin. I did go to Alredo's and was NOT impressed. It was like going to the Olive Garden but worse. I did have some GREAT food at the Coral Reef. Hope this helps.

I've been mostly disappointed with Alfredo's lately. Fetuccine Alfredo is their best dish. I would recommend Le Cellier, Coral Reef or Garden Grill over Alfredo's. San Angel food is OK. Best part is the atmosphere - sort of Blue Bayou with the boats going by.

For atmosphere you can't beat the San Angel Inn. If you're familiar with DL's Blue Bayou, it's like that - dining in the moonlight next to a Mayan pyramid, with a volcano in the distance. The food is pretty good, but what really bums me out is their bland salsa served with Tostitos. Yes, Tostitos. Very unspecial, very un-Disney.

I had a great meal at Alfredo's about 6 months ago. Good food, great service. The only downside there is that they pack in about 20% too many tables. You'll quite literally be eating shoulder to shoulder with the diners at the next table.

I loved L' Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante! I got the fettucini alfredo and it was really good.

Even if you don't eat at San Angel, you owe it to yourself to go and look around. It's a fantastic space.

Just got back and we ate at San Angel and were a little disappointed. The atmosphere was great, but we enjoyed Rose and Crown much more. I went to Alfredo's a while back and loved it, I missed it this time, but next time its a definite.

I'd recommend Alfredos over San Angel. Granted I live in Tucson where there's excellent Mexican food, but I found San Angel's food to be pretty bland. I love Alfredo's. There is too many tables, but they have great lasagna and fettucine alfredo.

I love 'em both, but I think San Angel is a better place for Lunch. It's neat to go in there on a hot afternoon and be cooled and in that nighttime environment. That's just kinda neat I think.

Alfredo's is great for dinner and Italy really shines at night, IMHO. It's nice to come out of Alfredo's in the evening and see the pavillion and Epcot spread out there all a-glow.

So I'd say do Alfredo's for Dinner one night, and then San Angel for Lunch perhaps another day? Or do both on the same day?

Opus's comments about Italy at night reminded me of another option. They do have outside seating at Alfredo's. So get a table outside, enjoy the ambiance of the courtyard, and avoid the crunch of tables inside.

Between those two, I'd pick Alfredos...but that's mostly becasue I'm not a fan of Mexican (and I love Italian). Don't know if you like the food, but Marrakesh is very good too (and the bellydancer doesn't hurt).

Ugh.. neither! The problem with most World Showcase restaurants: overpriced and overrated. As far as Epcot restaurants go... I would first recommend the Coral Reef Restaurant, and then Le Cellier... they're both incredible. As a third choice I would recommend Restaurant Marrakesh...

The rest are just ehhhh... we were all pretty disappointed after each one
