Question Any more Disney locations?

Ok I know this post doesn't exactly belong here but I'm not sure where to put it.

Disney now has 5 locations. Florida, California, Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

I'm wondering if Disney has plans on building more in other countries.

I myself would LOVE to see one in Canada but something tells me that it would never happen.

We have Canada's Wonderland not far from where we live and it's pretty good - Paramount took over about 10 years ago but recently I've heard rumors of them selling. Oh how i wish Disney would buy it and make it a wonderful vacation spot.

Anyways just asking the Disney Experts if you guys have heard any plans on more locations.

I don't know... I think Disney has enough parks... it's not much of a tourist atraction if they have them everywhere... it will be just like x Flags with parks in every state.

There's talk of a possible park in China.

I remember a while back they wanted to build a park in Virginia somewhere. But it was scratched. I actually think the park was suppose to be like a bunch of boardwalk rides almost like Paradise Pier in DCA.

Re: Any more Disney locations?

The most persistant "rumour" of late is China. That would make 3 in Asia and that just doesn't sound right to me, but how are you going to turn your back on the billions of people (and cash!) in China?

I've also heard a "rumour" that Australia was being considered. Probably started by an Aussie no doubt. If there were more folks "down under" this might make economic sense as much as geographic sense.

I've heard the Canada rumours and the Texas rumours. I remember the Virginia and Long Beach, CA projects, but I would be shocked if Disney expanded in North America other than the existing resorts in CA & FL. That would be oversaturating the market IMO.

Re: Any more Disney locations?

There is a huge piece of property for say in my neighbourhood that would be perfect! Sadly, the winters would drive the tourists away. They last 6 months. Not so good for bringing people in, but the stand by times would be awesome! So I vote for Edmonton Alberta!!!!!
