Need some info about Contemporary resort please

We are going to WDW in Oct for the Halloween party and I was looking at resorts. The Contemporary is running a passholder special and I've always wanted to stay there. My question is what is the difference between a standard room and a Tower Magic Kingdom view room? I went to the resort website but I am still confused. It says
Room Features:

• Available with your choice of one king-size bed with a daybed or two queen-size beds with a daybed
• Disabled accessible rooms available
• 24-hour room service
• Turndown service upon request
• Nonsmoking rooms available
• Irons, ironing boards, hairdryers and make-up mirrors in each room
• In-room coffee makers and refrigerators available at no charge
• Cribs available upon request
• In-room safes
• Dual line phones with voicemail
• Disney Channel and ESPN
• Newspaper delivery available
• High Speed Internet Access
• Laundry facilities/services

And then

Tower Guest Rooms: maximum 5 Guests
Enjoy all the style and charm of a standard room with additional square footage for accommodating an extra Guest.

So does this mean you get everything listed under room features but with a little extra space and a better view? I appreciate any help or tips! we have been to WDW many times and we are trying to stay at all the resorts at least once.

I can't give you an answer based on experience because I've never stayed at the Contemporary. I did, however, find this info:

I believe that the biggest difference is the wonderful view you get of the Magic Kingdom which you don't get in the standard rooms along with more space.

I'd love to one day stay there with a view of Magic Kingdom, but I don't think I can ever see me paying over 1000 dollars for just one night in a hotel.

kcnole, I actually found a good passholder rate of about $375 per night for Tower with Magic Kingdom view. Which was a lot less than I expected!

we have a tower room with bay lake view this weekend so will let you know when we get back next week. we have stayed in the north tower before and the rooms were nice but that was before the refurb. I think you get a refrigerator in the room not sure about anything else.

Ahhh, for the good ol' days when you could get an AP rate of $99/night for a tower room! I stayed there a couple times, and there is just nothing like hanging out on your (small) balcony and enjoying the view not only of the MK but of the monorails, boats and the other hotels. Go for it!!!

Cmash, the biggest question I have is about the daybed. Hopefully when you go you can tell me if is just a small couch or does it fold out into a little bed or something like that. My husband and I are used to sleeping in a king bed so we would like to get a room with a king bed if the daybed is good enough for our 5 year old to sleep on. Her sister is still in a pack and play crib. We usually stay in DVC rooms with the sleeper sofa but I haven't found availablity at any of the DVC except Saratoga and I don't really like Saratoga. I have always dreamed of staying at Contemporary but always thought it was too expensive. Now I have the chance but I want my daughter to be comfortable too.

It's been a few years since I stayed at the Contemporary, but the day bed did not fold out. From my recollection, it should be long enough for a 5 year old to sleep on.

No, (in the wings at least) the thing was more like a futon. It was nice, especially being right in the flow of the AC vent.

Need some information about the Contemporary Resort

Well... it used to be a very nice hotel until they plopped that awful convention center there in the parking lot and remodeled it to look like a bad window in Milan's IKEA.
