    Small gesture for EPCOT's 25th.

I know there has been a lot of talk about the lack of ideas for celebrating the 25th anniversary of EPCOT from Disney, but we have heard some rumors. Now, I was thinking, one gesture that would cost relatively little, yet would mean something about celebrating would be to reintroduce the EPCOT entrance medley as part of the celebration. I mean, it's not a major thing, but it's nostalgic to hear "Listen to the Land," "It's Fun to be Free," and all the other original EPCOT songs as you walk into the park. I know this alone would appease me, if however slightly, into knowing that EPCOT means something to people, and that they care about celebrating where it's been, as well as where it's going, which is pretty much what EPCOT celebrates: man's accomplishments through time.

This wasn't meant to be this long, but does this sound like a simple gesture that would at least, however miniscule, help in the 25th celebration? Certainly better than a new pin or merchandise in my opinion.

I think it sounds good and can be enjoyed by everyone in the park without them having to spend any extra money on a pin or other merchandise. I don't collect pins so that is useless to me and one person can only have so many t-shirts.

I love the current loop, though. =/ I thought the original loop was rather crazy sounding techo-chill, or am I thinking of old WDW Tomorrowland?

You must be thinking MK's TL in the 70's. Get ready to revisit that crazy sounding techno-chill loop again in TDL's TL, where many aspects of the original MK still live!

No, this track is dated 80s. It's almost worthy of a "smooth jazz" station. If you have the sounds of the 70s, though, I'd love to listen.

Oh, then I have no idea since I still distinctively remember the original MK loops from 1971 that still play at TDL's TL and World Bazaar. Sorry I don't have MP3s of that music to share.

Don't know what to tell you, this track is labeled 1989-2003 but the Wilkins tracks are labeled 1994, which is certainly odd. Does this sample ring any bells?

    How about Spaceship Earth ears?

    Here you go, here's a rough mock-up.

You know, I can see them stocking that on the shelves at MouseGear already. Complete with the blinking red light at the very top for state regulations, it looks just like the real thing.

Actually, I can't imagine them selling that as-is, although I can fix it.

    Here's the updated version:

NOW it's finally fit to go into a store!

But didn't you know that on the real Spaceship Earth next year they're adding the real ears just like that?

They should do a version of illuminations that has all the old attraction music (like the DL50th fireworks did). they could do horizons and the sperry robot, kitchen caberet, fun to be free, etc. Guests could reminice on how boring those rides were and how they fell asleep in energy.

You know, in all serious, that sounds like a great idea. Remember worked so well, bringing back all those memories etc. Not sure if that would work so well with Epcot, because as WDW is a much bigger tourist destination versus Disneyland's bigger local destination, the people who would connect with the fireworks soundtrack are spread all over the world.

Re: Small gesture for EPCOT's 25th.

this has nothing to do with anything...other than the cute little hat Mickey Mania designed...we were walking the other day, and hubby picked up a golfball, handed it to our 3 year old..she said "look, it's an Epcot ball!!". I just HAD to share that, sorry..now, back to our original thread..

DOn't they already play music as you walk into Epcot? I'm not sure, I wasn't paying attention..you really notice the music at MK, but at the other 3 ....I didn't notice.
