New video from The Seas with Nemo & Friends

Hello from WDW :wave:. I'm on vacation down here in Orlando and just uploaded some video to google using the Pop Century's high speed connection (very fast by the way :thumbup:). I thought y'all might like to see what the new Nemo attraction looks like. Of course, it's better in person and if you get the chance I highly recommend it. The best bit is where the characters are projected on the plexi-glass and seem to be swimming with the real fish. Very impressive!! Anyway here is the link.

I have a question about the technology used on the ride...apparently there are real fish?! Are the characters all projected on a movie screen or are audio-animatronics or traditional dark ride 2-D characters used?

The only scene that includes real fish is the finale, in which you go buy one of the actual observation tanks... and the Nemo characters are projected to look like they're in the tank along with the real fishies.

For the rest of the ride, the Nemo characters are projected onto the screens seen in the video. The only "animatronics" used are the angler fish that chases Marlin around... they're actually puppets on robotic arms from what's been reported.

That make sense?

I will see this attraction one day. Actually, if things go well, I might see the Submarine Voyage at DL before I see this. Just can't wait to go back!

The subs look like they're going to kick some major a$$ from the pics I've seen. I guess you could call Epcot's version "Nemo Lite". :)

^^Considering the different budgets and execs pushing the attractions through, there will be a HUGE difference.
