Time from Orlando airport to Resort

If you are taking the magical express, how long does it take to get from the airport to the resort on Friday at about 4pm?

This one time on Friends . . .

When my cousin flew in around the same time, it took about 2.5 hours to get from the airport to her hotel (Port Orleans). She said it wouldn't have taken so long except the bus stops at multiple resorts, obviously.

Did you know that it takes longer to fly from California to Florida, than from Florida to California.

^ You should alert the media right away, that is breaking news!

I bet wind patterns also affect flight times too.

And don't forget that in Florida, rush hour starts at 3pm and goes until 7pm.

Wow I have never experienced this long of wait when using Magical Express. I have gotten to my hotel anywhere from 30 min to an hour.

I have only used Magical Express once. It was about 2 PM and it took about 35 minutes.

We arrived on a Sunday morning at 6 am and it took about an hour from the time we landed until we got to the resort. It helped that there was no traffic and we only made one other stop before coming to our hotel.

According to a Disney CM who is a moderator on another board (and also a former DME driver, a job he did part-time before his recent Disney promotion), the average time from PLANE LANDING to a guest's drop-off at resort is 70 minutes. Of course, this is including walking from the gate through the airport to the ground transportation area, etc.

Someone who took 2.5 hours to get to their resort via DME was very, very unlucky. Yes, the DME bus may stop at up to 3 other resorts, but the drop-offs are very quick, and there are no pick-ups (those are done by OTHER buses). Also, the wait time at the airport is limited because the buses are only permitted to wait around for up to 15 minutes before they have to shove off even if there are only two people on-board.

When I used DME, it took 53 minutes from the time I got into the DME Welcome Center line until I was dropped off at CBR. I didn't time it from the gate because we made a few bathroom stops along the way. Assuming it's a 10-minute walk, that would've put my time at 63 minutes from gate to resort.

My experience with DME was great, and I'm using it again in 9 days.

I think it was about 60 minutes from 7PM touchdown at MCO to arrival at Coronado Springs back in Feb this year. Expectations based on various sources was 2 hours, so I was very, very happy with the one hour time.

Minor detail: All but one suitcase got to our room approx. an hour after our arrival in the room. That one suitcase arrived around midnight, but that wasn't a big deal at all. Kids slept right through the guy tossing it through our window, and cleanup crew took care of the broken glass in the morning.

Great service all the way around and won't hesitate to use DME again!

I can second (or third) this. I have used it three times. All three times it was about an hour from gate to drop off. I have never waited more than 10 minutes or so for a bus to leave. All three times I arrived between 10 and 11 AM on a Saturday, so traffic was a bit lighter than on a Friday afternoon.

Must have been a bad experience then for my cousin. The only reason I know how long it took is because we were waiting for her at the hotel. Had fun shopping while we waited though.
