    Walt's Apartment in Cinderella's Castle

I know they built an apartment in Cinderella's castle, but I know he passed away before the castle was finished. I know a number of years it was used as the parks telephone operators. Does anyone know what it is used for now? Also if you take the behind the scenes tour do you get to look at it?

No, you do not get a look at it in the behind-the-scenes tour. The plans for the apartment were not ment for Walt, but for the Disney family in general. The plans called for a much grander complex than what was built, with several bedrooms and a reception room. The eventual construction was a much quieter apartment for Roy's immediately family, not Walts as it is lead to believe. Roy died two months after the Magic Kingdom opened, and he visited rarely between the opening and his death. On the day he died he was due to speak at Disneyland's Christmas parade. The plans for Roy's apartment were scrapped and the space was unused until the early 80s, when it became a changing room for the Tinkerbell CM who flies from the castle in fireworks displays, and is still used to this day. I believe it is currently being used for the cast members of Cinderellabration.

i remember watching "inside out" and the apartment was built.... and somewhat fernished....

In fact i heard that the dinning with cinderella was part of Walt's apartment... then was split to it's own place... the apartment had a kitchen and sitting area.... Tink uses it... so does the stage show in front of the castle...

Last time I heard about it...this room was being used as a stock room for some of the facilities in the castle. Some time ago, there was talk about offering this apartment as a "Honeymoon Suite" for those buying the most expensive wedding plan at WDW, but the plans were scrapped. Disney execs didn't want guests lookingup to the castle and thinking about all that honeymooning hanky-panky going on up there. Cinderella would have been very upset!!!

why is it called Walts appartment?

Walt died before construction even began on the Florida property I thought

I mean I know the art center place above Pirates in Disneyland would've been his "new" appartment but really why call it Walts appartment in WDW

yeah I know Roy stayed there

I always thought of MK as Roy's park really (nothin wrong with Roy I thought he sounded pretty cool even if some of the mythology does say that he was more of a buisness man then Walt)

The apartment, as stated earlier, is used by the cast of Cinderellabration and Tink. Roy Disney never lived in it.

ORDDU: Well, I can't imagine why Cinderella would have been upset over a little 'hanky panky' going on inside her castle. After all, if you only knew the sort of wild fantasies she and that hunky prince of hers have lived out in every single nook and cranny of the place, you'd realize how hypocritical it would be of her to frown on some OTHER honeymooning couple and what THEY might do inside there. (From what my sisters and I have been told, Charming can be alarming!!!)

It was intended to be an apartment. It was never finished. Yes I am positive it exists. I've been in it many times. It's nothing more than a 20x20 room with makeup mirrors, a few couches and a bathroom.
