WDW Monorail spiels are OUT OF CONTROL!!

G-Fan and I took a little spin on the "express" (yeah, right) monorail to the MK earlier this evening... and then back again to the TTC after our short visit there.

I have to say the monorails spiels are simply out of control!! They are loud, obnoxious and simply NONSTOP!!! Announcements run one into the next with hardly a break in between them. They are so loud and nonstop frequent that most riders are forced to speak to one another in a loud tone of voice, because it's simply hard to hear what your family members are saying to one another over the loud booming PAs.
What was once a nice gimmick on the monorails (Thanks Jack Wagner, we love you!) has now become noise pollution of the third decivel degree. Who cares about every character meal there is along the way, or the wedding pavillion your average guest can't afford to get married at, or whether there are a million other options to get from point A to point B. The truth is... NO ONE REALLY CARES and NO ONE IS LISTENING TO THEM EITHER!!!! WDW's management needs to realize this.

Instead of bombarding guests with useless mumbojumbo blah blah blah... they should be working more on the efficiency of this system so guests can get to where they need to go without delays and traffic clearance backups. And please.. CUT BACK on the relentless monorail PAs!!!
Maybe then, riding the monorails at WDW will be more enjoyable..

I happen to like the announcements, of course I usually take the Resort monorail, not the express. I usually tune the messages out and enjoy the views.

I must concur with my distuingshed colluege from Orlando. The announcements are just too much. The voice is not only loud, but very annoying. Why can't they just let you enjoy the ride without all the extra noise?

Yes, but this is constant ramblings about things that are NOT inside any park or anything else. This is just telling you everything that you can do, all of which cost more money.

Don't even get me started with the whole 'and if your standing, please hold onto the handrails and stand clear of the doors'. This is mentioned at least 3 times:

-Before you stop.
-After you stop.
-After everyone boards.

Overall, I was not that impressed with WDW's Monorail system. Too much transferring, and still not very efficient.

Sadly its there because guests DON'T LISTEN and it needs to be said or else guests will get hurt. Well, they still get hurt... but at least they're "trying" to help guests not hurt themselves.

The spelling is fine but "porfavor" is two separate words...

I think that they could eliminate about a 1/4 of the spiel and it would work wonders. If they were to turn down the volume a little bit, it might reduce it's annoyance to some. It doesn't actually bother me how long it is, just the volume.

To much yapping...I agree. I listen to what they say. i stand back. I make sure I look around as not to forget anything. I stand clear of the doors when they open and shut. A fond memory is of leaving the park at night as a kid with my face pressed against the glass, 'silence' from those sitting around me and just staring at the park as it faded.

In my day, we drove the monorails around, there weren't nearly as much chatter and it wasn't nearly as loud and WE LIKED IT! As a former Railee, I'm a bit disappointed in the paint jobs that have shown up, Stitch on the side, the excessively long PAs/ads.

It's absolutely horrid. Nothing like all that noise to get your blood pressure up before you even get in the gates.
And Stitch's little Mahalo and laughter spiel makes my skin crawl

Stitch's voice is probably the most annoying aspects of the monorail spills for me, with the new male version being the 2nd most annoying thing.
