Trip Report December 27, 2006

Greetings all, this is my first Trip Report, so bear with me.

I was only able to be at WDW for a day, because I was flying out to NC the next day.

Arrived at Magic Kingdom around 9:30ish there was lots of people! My parents had to upgrade their park passes, so they went in line at customer service. I went on ahead to the park via bus. Shortest lines. Once I got there, I went to the VMK Central place and turned in/did the VMK quests. Then made my way over to Adventureland. I was going to do Mansion, but the line was very long, so I just wandered around, and ended up at Philharmagic. That was cool!

By this time, I met up with my parents and we went over to Pirates. And the ride broke down! All the ride lights/animatronics shut down, but the music kept going! They finally turned off the music...then they announced they were shutting the ride down. They then evacuated the boats and we got the 'backstage tour'. The parade was about to start, so we saw the 'ready' area or whatever it's called. No pictures of course. We ended up getting 2 fastpasses per person out of the whole deal. We went on Carousel of Progress instead.

We then went over to MGM. Did the backstage tour, then had an early dinner. Waited for it to get dark, then walked around and enjoyed the pretty lights at the Osborne display. Then did Tower of Terror. We then decided to go back to MK, and using our fastpasses and waiting, did Mansion, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Pirates again. We did all that in about 1.5 hours total.

Overall the trip was fun, but next time I need to go multiple days and really get to do everything. The next day, I flew out to North Carolina, where I am right now. I return home on Wednesday.

Funny thing about WDW. There's just so many wonderful things to do that no one ever does everything. That's why I usually make a list. I don't actually carry a note around with me. I do make a mental note of the "things that I'd like to do while at WDW", and I strive to accomplish them. I try to put something for everyone in my traveling party on that list. I then plan those activities into my vacation. If you accomplish most of what is on that list, it somehow makes your vacation all the more magical.

Yeah he was just standing in the middle of Main Street and people were taking pictures with him so I figured, why not?

You seemed to get in a lot for one day...good for you. The one day 'run' of the parks sounds like a good way to enjoy WDW.
