heard something from a friend.. etc..

Ok.. long time lurker.. now registered and full o' questions..

My wife and I went to the WDW for our honeymoon 10 years ago, and want to go again. We have started making preliminary reservations, and price shopping, cause money is an issue.

A FOAF passed on that there was a page at www.disney.com/affordable that had accomodations for 4 for a reasonable price, but that webaddress is bad.

Has anyone heard of such a promotion for the WDW resort?

Also, I would love to have anyone chime in with good ideas on how to get the best deal/package. We live in Ohio, and will be flying. We plan to stay 3-4 days and get some sort of meal plan. At this time, we are unsure how many are going.. maybe 2, could be 4.

ANY good ideas would be helpful!

Oh.. and just to give some answers to potential questions.. we have not been down there for 5 years or sp.. but stayed at the Contemporary the prior times. We are shooting for an on-porperty stay, but maybe more moderately priced.. Dixie Landings or if need be, All Star resorts. Staying OFFSITE is RIGHT OUT.

I believe that was the link to a family of 4 promotion for $1500, but that was for last year.

For 2007 the price is now just under $1600.

    The fine print:

    - family of 4, consisting of 2 adults, 2 children, one of them age 10-17, the other age 3-9
    - staying in a value resort during value season for 6 nights
    - 6 day base ticket (no park hopping)

Advice - read MouseSavers, use a Disney Specialist travel agent or agency.

well.. the link doesn't work, and I cannot find anything about this price on the main disney site.. any idea where to look?

Also, what is value season? Is there a calendar somewhere? We (right now) meet 2 of the 3 requirements..

I saw a commercial for that website a day or two ago. What they call "affordable" is WAAAAAAY out of my budget.

Go to disneyworld.com, on the right side it says "Magical Vacations, packages and offers" - for less than $1600, enjoy a 6-night/7-day vacation for a family of 4 at a Disney Value resort.
