A Dream Called Walt Disney World (part 1,2,3)

These aired on Sept 19, 1982 and were thirty minute featurettes on the park.

I bet that Beta tape has not worn out at all yet.
There are more videos from the guy that posted those. A ton. I'm just curious where he finds them.

I've got this on VHS, fun stuff. I know this one was sold in the parks as a souvenir video, that's how I got mine back back in November of 1990.

Thanks for showing theses videos TicToc. They were interesting; especially how it looked in the early 80's.

I agree with one of the comments on the 3rd video. I want to live in Disney World too.

There is no way on God's green earth that these are from the 80's!!! The music on that first one is HOOOOOORRIBLE! It SCREAMS early 1970's Brady bunch! "The maaagic of Walt Dis neeeeey Wooooorld."

Who WROTE this music??? Maybe they simply added new video to some earlier music. Early 80's should have keyboards or pseudo disco going on.
But the footage is GREAT! Thanks for the links, Tic Toc.

Edit: How sure are we about these dates?

    Evidence from #1:

    1) The little girl is wearing what COULD be 70's clothing. No?
    2) The sound quality seems much earlier than 1980's.
    3) The music is Herb Alpert era. I just don't understand why they would release a NEW commercial in 1982 with RETRO music. The voicing and instrumentation are Carpenters/Burt Bacharach/Brazil 66 era. I really don't see how it would have been recorded in the 80's.

Is it possible that they re-released a commercial in 1982 for this travel thing that was recorded several years earlier? If Space Mountain opened in 1975, could this be from the era?

Of course, I COULD be totally wrong... :

Actually you are QUITE RIGHT!! This WDW promotional short was filmed back in 1972-73 as a promotional pre-featurette for movie theater exhibition. The first time I saw this program was in 1973 as a preshow to the "Robin Hood" movie in my local cinema. I was only like...10 yrs old back then. The program was designed to be an introduction to WDW for prospective guests back in the early days of the resort. I believe it played for several months then was vanished into the vaults.

The program then re-surfaced again as a home video VHS program for sale in mid 1981, and that was the time I bought my copy, which I still have and continues to play well on my video player.

..and that it the story behind this "A Dream Called WDW" show, and all of a sudden I feel so old!!

Here is a photo of the 1981 video release cover art:

Whew! I'm not losing my mind!!

I'm assuming that they updated and spliced in new audio and video for Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and other attractions that were added after 1973?

I would assume so, as I vividly remember seeing this as a preshow to "Robin Hood". I can tell you I was looking forward to this short more than the movie itself!
