Wow! That looks excellent. It's roomier than the castle looks like it can provide.

    Very good point.

While pretty and covered in bragging rights, I can't get excited about it. Of course, my mother is dying to spend the night in the castle. I'd like to tour it, but not stay there.

The toilet is pretty exciting, though.

Even if it's only $100K or even $50K, that'll buy a lot of paint and lot of time
    of those painters.

BTW. does anyone know the rules on what happens after the park closes?
Are you restricted to your room (I assume there's a butler?) or can you walk
    around w/ an escort?

I believe Disney has security on duty throughout the night.

Does anyone know if that is a real working fireplace? I see the wood in the picture but that could be just themeing firewood. Unless that stone is really cold, I don't see anyone needing that fireplace unless they turn the A/C up ...a lot.

But is that what you really want as a renovation - A fresh coat of Dutch Boy?

I assure you that if the execs at WDW said they were going to renovate something, and all they spent was $50,000 to put on a fresh coat of paint, the people on these boards would be all over them (like a cheap coat - of paint)

$50,000 in the realm of corporate budgets is nickel and dime money. .

I wonder if they will let normal people book this suite? I would stay here if I had the chance and the room rate wasn't over $1000.

All I have really ever heard is that it is being built especially for the "Year of a Million Dreams" program. I don't think it will be available for actual booking and reservations for the public.

Has anyone heard of anything different??

I like the room in general but it does seem a little dark. I thought it would be a bit more whimsical I guess. It does seem to be a bit of a waiste of money if they only use it for this year but then I recall a few years ago that they turned the castle into a huge pink birthday cake for WDW anniversary. Thank heavens that was just for a year. So park management has been known to waiste a few dollars now and then and this time they didn't really have a choice on what to do, it was thrust upon them by mr rassullo (sp) and his crew.

I would fathom a guess, that much like eveything else at WDW, for the right price it is available.

I envision it being along the lines of the wedding chapel or somthing similar. They keep it "mothballed" so to speak and if someone with enough ducats comes along and wants to spend the night in the suite for a special occassion - or heck, even just for groundhog day, it will be made available.

Lets see .... cost to "unmothball" the suite + cost of a CM to be the overnight "butler" (if there is such a beastie) + a tidy profit + cost to "remothball" the suite.

The nicest suites at the GF are between $2000 - $3000 depending on the time of year. I would suspect, if they ever offered this suite out to the general public it would go for $7000.00 $10,000 at the lowest.

If disney has the balls to charge $7k to $10k a night for a room in a castle, thats just F'in crazy... I mean come on... Its a room in the park with no windows. granted it looks amazing, but I think after this year of a million dreams promo ends, I can see them using the suite for the real high end VIP's. Celebs or musicians... Heads of State... I cant see them spending all this money on this suite and then abandoning it after the promo ends...

If I am paying $10,000 for one night in a hotel, I want some nice windows with a view.

I want a round toilet and a bathroom bigger than a broom closet.
