I'm not sure it's manual operations by the CM in the suit though, because other than squeezing their butt cheeks or using their mouth on some device inside, how would they make the movements work? Unless their hands have some finger controlled button or something but I'd think they would be too busy with the choreography to worry about making their eyes blink and mouth move all the while dancing.
And if it is computerized, I'd actually kinda like to see some glitch and have Minnies eyelids start blinking willy nilly and such. Yea, I'm like that
Re: Dream Along With Mickey- Animated Character Heads- Pictures/Video?
I think Larxene1959 means when they are doing meet and greets. Most face characters talk like you and me would when they do meet and greets, but since Smee and Hook have very distinct voices, it would be kind of difficult.
At least the impression I get is that the face characters talk to guests during meet and greets like Princess Jasmine asking a girl what her name is and so forth.
I thought that was amazing!! I loved it. In fact, I found that the dancers were distracting. I just wanted to see the characters talk and move. I think it is great technology. I hope that they employ it even in walking around characters. If they have handlers who can select prearranged set of phrases or like PUSH, have a remote person who can talk and control the face. It really would make meeting Mickey in Toontown a E ticket. Imagine, him talking and answering questions for children. I am sure that kids would fall over when he did that.
I think if Walt were around he would not wait, but employ the technology immediately since it is SO much better than the still faced characters. He always embraced new technology if it made the show better, even if it cost more.

I would say that is the most amazing thing i ever saw.. but remember, this is disney, they can create pretty much anything, remember spaceship earth? just turn those manachins (if i spelled that right) into costumes and put a person in it, have them dance, and as the music plays their costume 'sings' not as complicated as it seems
