Disney- MGM Studios: How about a James Bond themed ride?

I always wondered since MGM's name is attached to the park, why not build a ride based on the James Bond movies? Afterall, 007 is an MGM property. I'd love to go on a 007 themed ride!

A spy themed attraction would rock. I'm thinking a Robocoaster based interactive dark ride. As for the name, how about...

    OCTOPU$$Y: H2Oh James!

Or perhaps a coaster that goes forwards and backwards called...

Live and Let Ride: Starring Paul McCartney

Another possibility would be a flume ride...

I believe "Lights! Moteurs! Action!" was originally intended to use licensed James Bond material.

A medly that features the main Bond theme song interspersed with the individual movie scores would be perfect for a spy themed ride or a stunt show.

I can't remember which theme park has it but there is a coaster based on The Italian Job and the cars look like Mini's. Retheme it to James Bond and make the cars Aston Martins, BMWs, or a Lotus.

Great idea. Talk about riding in luxury.

You're probably thinking of a Paramount park, which would likely belong to Cedar Fair now.

    You read Imagineering's mind.

Back in the nineties, Disney was given first dibs on the ride technology currently used in Spider-Man at Islands of Adventure. WDI wanted to create a James Bond attraction for D/MGM at WDW, using the new ride system. But Eisner didn't like the $90 million price tag to build the Bond attraction, and passed. Uni Creative grabbed the ride technology for the second gate they were building in Orlando. Spider-Man is a great attraction, and still my favorite dark ride in any theme park.

    Way to go Mikey.

What about "James Bond 007: A Licence to Thrill" that was at King's Island?

    Oh yeah, it completely sucked....

have a driving sim in aston martins, and then see which guest can bed the most lovely looking ladies, and whoever has the highest score, gets 00 status. lol!!! j/k

but seriously, someone posted a pic above about the italian job ride, and that could work, if they could figure a way to apply it to the james bond universe...

I mean its hard with so many movies, and so many villans to choose from...

I would love to see a Bond ride! I'm a huge fan of 007.

I saw a video of that Italian Job coaster and it looks freaking awesome.

    You believe correctly.

There was also talk of a Bond ride using similar technology to what IOA has for Spiderman.

Both were dropped due to cost ... including cost of obtaining the Bond license rights.

I rode it at PKI and came off thinking, "that was it?" The pacing is so messed up, it isn't even funny. The ride time is VERY short. It could be great but, it just came up short on everything. So, the IJC gets a big from me.

Back OT: a 007 ride would be interesting, the question being, where would you put it?

Thumbs up Re: Disney- MGM Studios: How about a James Bond themed ride?

That would be pretty darn cool. I don't know how they'd do it, but I would make a trip to MGM Studios to see it. I don't normally make a point of visiting MGM Studios, it is my least favorite park, but I think a James Bond ride might just work. It would really go along well in terms of style, with the rest of the rides in the park.
